Imagine thinking this shit about a college football player.

He's pretty good. He'll probably be pretty good in the NFL if you hand him over to non-Special person coaching. IE not the Bears.

I really can't wait for Bears fans to turn on the next QB, meanwhile our head coach is Jim Irsay's designated driver, and our OC is the guy that applies Ben *** to Joe Burrow's ballsack.

That's because it doesn't even take a year to tell if a QB has IT or not.
LOL, I'm still not sure about Fields overall but that didn't come close to happening with Hurts, Mahomes, Allen and Lawrence.

All he has to do is play like a franchise qb and all is forgiven. Hes young, give him a break. Im sure you were a dipshit around the same age.
If the Bears draft Caleb and he plays like a true franchise QB, there will be a rush on nail polish and every single male that goes to Bears games will be sporting the latest nail polish.

Don't lie. You know you would do it.

Bear fans have been known to buy any ol' junk that the NFL designs to sell to fans. This would just be a new trend coming from the QB, not the NFL.

I don't care. If we do the required due diligence and determine that all this is overblown and that Caleb is someone we should build around, we should draft him. At the end of the day, our goal is for the bears to win a Superbowl. Not be #1 on most likeable team list.

For me, he’d be a Bears QB, so he’d have my support and skepticism in equal measure, actually, maybe more skepticism than support.

If he lights it up here, I can let go of Fields and be like boy bye. If he is on brand for the Bears where we let go of the first keeper since post-WWII, I’m going to be pissed as all ****.

So, I want Fields and either MHJ or a haul. I adamantly don’t want Williams, but shit is what it is.
Bump this.

Anyone that says they wouldn’t support him is full of shit. This franchise could (and has) kick us all in the nuts and we’d be back watching every game.

Just fucking get Harbaugh/Greg Roman and run that offense to maximize Fields.
Those guys are not going to take the job if they can't hand pick the QB of THEIR choice.

Why is this so hard for you guys to understand?

Roughly 60% of the fanbase is still in on Fields - people would give him the benefit of the doubt but if Fields or Maye lit it up from the jump the pressure would be absurd.

Just fucking get Harbaugh/Greg Roman and run that offense to maximize Fields.
They wanted to run Roman out of town towards the end. Not sure why anyone wants him

Right. Why would a talented coach or OC would come here, and they get Justin hoisted on then from Day 1? If they're pounding the table for him (For whatever reason) then sure, but that certainly shouldn't be the expectation, unless you're smoking pipes full of dreams.
Mike McDaniel didn't have that attitude. And now ....look at how Tua has progressed in Miami

The Dolphins also weren't potentially picking #1/2 overall with the opportunity to mold a new QB to their liking.

If we're picking #2 I'd take Harrison and either LT/DE with our second pick. Crazy second pick would be Bowers at TE. If we're sticking with Fields give him what he needs.

If we take Williams at #1, then move Fields for a 1st/2nd, and take Bowers/Fashanu/Latu/Nabers with our next pick. Center with the pick we got for Fields. Our DEF is already improved, keep improving it. OL isn't bad.

First-pick QBs record 49-87-2

Of the past 10 top-pick quarterbacks, only one had a winning record as a rookie, that being Luck in 2012, guiding the Colts to an 11-5 record. The aggregate win-loss record as rookie starters is 49-87-2, which works out to winning 36% of the time, essentially a 6-11 record if they played a full season. Just keep Fields and find a great OC, that's what it would take, someone who can design the best play calls with consistency

Fields or the new QB need WR, we have DJ and??????????? A trade-out of 1 should get a haul in a loaded WR class where I'd take 2 of them. As much as I love MHJ in this draft there are about 7 pretty good WR. I'd rather take a DE than an LT with our pick, Jones is growing into the job and getting better, and want M Sweat's sidekick which we don't have. I don't like William's attitude at all so a WR makes sense. Are you giving him a piece of ownership that he's demanding, HELL no. With DJ and nobody how can any QB win games?

Alex Smith was in his 6th season and 27 years old when they took over in SF, they drafted Kaepernick 36th overall after picking Aldon Smith in the 1st at 7th overall. Jake Locker was drafted 8th and Blaine Gabbert 10th.

If it were Harbaugh/Roman - Fields would be the prototype QB in their system.

They'd want to win from the jump, doesn't mean they wouldn't also draft a QB but that staff would be the ones who could maximize Fields.

What is Stroud's record right now? For the Texans, new coach, new QB, new life. I could use some of that excitement around here in 2024.

I sincerely doubt they would. He's not my guy for sure. Too many reasons to list.
Really, I have watched most of his games at USC, and the only thing I have seen that I can really blame on Williams is ball security and he seems very thin skinned.

My point is we have a young, smart, talented Qb who can use "molding". IMO ya get MHJ and build the trenches.
Basically you're setting the table for the Qb position and the team moving forward.

Id dress in full drag if it meant the Bears would win a super bowl. Im a secure hetero male who gives no fucks what people think. If it works at this point im willing to do almost anything for an elite qb and super bowl championship.
