It's also "lying:" season. This scout may like Wilson a good deal, but is throwing stuff out there to turn other teams off

Eh. Wilson started several games before this year, unlike Mitch who never started a game before his junior year. More similar to Burrow who went from ho-hum starter and a late round pick, to top of the draft with a huge final year. Not nearly as good though.

I do agree with the adjustment part though. Wilson has lazy habits that I don't like. His playaction fakes are lazy. He doesn't extend his arms to sell the fake. He unnecessarily turns his back on the defense. He sometimes is unwilling to take the checkdowns and likes to wait for the bigger play, which he may not have the luxury of doing against NFL defenses. Obviously all are very correctable though.

Yeah he played before but wasn't very impressive. I can see the comparison to Burrow except Burrow's one year was the greatest CFB history and against a level of competition that isn't comparable to Wilson. Burrow put up otherworldly numbers against a slew of ranked teams. Wilson had a great QB season against lackluster competition. His season is closer to 4M's once you adjust for level of competition than it is to Burrow as 4M put up 30 and 6 against better competition than Wilson who put up 33 and 3.

Personally I just think he is overvalued but I could easily be wrong.

Got ya. Yeah, Wilson's season can't fuck w/ Burrow's. I think he's overvalued if he can possibly go in the 2nd-4th pick range. Talent and skillset wise, he's closer to a middle of the 1st round talent, but QBs always go earlier than the should anyway.

Character is more than just not over-partying or avoiding Johnny Law.

Bears nation already suffered a selfish attitude QB. If true, hard pass.

Could say Pace actually OVER-values character however. Likely a non-issue assuming homework is done on the guy.

Mac Jones’ year was comparable to Burrow, minus the scrambling of course. Against elite competition as well. I just don’t get why so many are down on him.

But back to Wilson, his traits are there, regardless of the competition. He has incredible talent. I think he goes too-5 though.

All this talk about Wilson, his skills, his relationship with his teammates and his resemblance to Bo Callahan doesn't amount to a hill of shit.

What kind of car does he drive? Is it a Camry?

That's all I need to know.

Burrow had 1100 more yards and 23 more TDs. Still not really comparable.

The talent was there with 4M as well. The question is if the talent can be consistently produce. We dont know that with Wilson as he only delivered for one season.

The other teams drafting before us should read this article and pass up on drafting him. Yep, no need for them to take a risk on such a wild card.
And if they do.....it should tell you something

In speaking to a director of college scouting from a NFC team that is in the market for a new quarterback, they outlined the makeup concerns with Wilson:

"Johnny Manziel comp without the [drugs]. [Wilson] is fun to watch, but is he a 1-year flash in the pan? He's a backyard baller who is fun to watch.

"Someone will grab him in the first. I doubt he gets to the second, because once the third quarterback goes after Lawrence and Fields, there will be a run on them. [Wilson] has character concern, rich kid who is an entitled brat -uncle owns Jet Blue -, parents are a pain, not a leader, selfish, and he's a know-it-all.

Who knows if any of this is true, and I'm not saying it is, but watching him on TV I didn't have a good feeling about him. He seems like a d-bag.

Well, here his coaches and teammates say he is anything but those character concerns

Do you think they are going to say anything to the contrary? Teammates saying anything else in public is not a good look for the player or program.

Sounds like the football background of Mitch Trubisky and the disposition of Chad Kelly. What could go wrong?

backyard baller without the drug problems...

so, Favre?

That doesn't scare me.

Johnny Football failed because he couldn't stop partying. If you take the party out of Johnny Football IMHO he's still in the league.
they said WITHOUT the drub problems
