The man is anyone at the top of the ivory tower looking down upon his minions slaving away while the man counts his dead presidents and belly laughs.

Sure working for yourself is always an option if you have a good idea for a business. I could start a bar in Chicago but the odds of success are low giving the amount of money I would have to invest as well as the fact that the cost of living in Chicago would require my business to generate substantial income for me to make it. Conversely, if you're living in Bali, you could start a beach bar on the cheap and even if you're only making 10-20k a year, that is more than enough to live a good life over there. Plus you're on the beaches of Bali (beats Lake Michigan in the winter time).

Are you old enough to remember Bali Hai wine?

Maybe Canada, Sweden or Norway. Somewhere where healthcare is free and the government isn't corrupt.

LOL, that place doesn't exist. I've been to every continent except Antarctica and IMO you can only judge by how corrupt governments are, not if there is corruption.

Norway seems pretty legit. It's always ranked top 3 in terms of citizens happiness. Plus the women are hot as ****.

I have no ideas about where I would go but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. I'd have to be pretty proficient in the language and other basic customs of the area though. I wouldn't want to look like just another stupid american fumbling my way around

If you go to Thailand or South America (i.e. Colombia), you'd be better off only speaking English as the women there seem to flock towards American men. You'll score 10x more poon by embracing your "stupid American side" than if you blend in and act like a regular.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Army Black Knights
If I was single I'd definitely consider Thailand. Those days have been passed for three years, though.

The Canada I've heard about fascinates me. Trying to get up there within the next 1-2 years to see if it's true. Could see myself staying up there, ultimately.

Stay out of the woods during summer months, as I can assure you Canadian mosquitoes, no-seeums, and horseflies are completely immune to 99% DEET repellant.

Never again do I visit Ontario.

Shit.

I just want to be surrounded by endless frozen ponds in the winter in a place where hockey is a religion. The Bears are killing football for me, but the Hawks have me worshiping at hockey's altar.

Toronto is pretty much like a big American city. Montreal is pretty cool and unique but you're right, the cost of living is just as bad, if not worse, than here in the states.

I studied abroad twice so far. Once in Chile, and once in Spain. South American women love American guys. I was in a nightclub with a few Chilean friends and all of my Chilean friends were showing their IDs to get into the club. All I had was a copy of my passport, so I showed that. They let me in free just because I was American. I also hooked up with a Chilean chick that night because she found out I'm American. She didn't believe me at first, so i pulled out the passport copy again and she went crazy. Good times.

Spanish chicks were a little more reserved. You had to be the one to always start the conversation. Even then, they're not as crazy about American guys. I actually hooked up with a Brazilian chick while in Spain. Again, South American women love American guys.

I also visited England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Italy, France, and Ibiza while studying abroad in Spain. Belgium was probably my favorite, although the Irish were the most welcoming people I've ever met.

Everything you said is 100% truth. Spanish women are very reserved and they really don't give 2 shits where you're from. Plus to score some of those chicks, speaking Spanish is a big plus. As you said about South American women, they will jump your **** once they realize you're American.

People in Ireland are great and the women are also easy as ****.
