Would you really be that surprised if we made the playoffs this year?

DB, how can you not buy it? He was out of the league 10 years for a reason and only coordinated a team for more than 2 seasons ONCE in his coaching career. He's not good, and never was. He gets figured out quickly and cannot adjust. He was turned down HC options before the Bears, as well as just totally being out of the league for years on end.

He's not good. Look at his history. It's a pattern.

Let's get it straight, I am not a fan of Trestman, at all, at least as a head coach. I am just saying there were plenty of other reasons that our offense regressed in his second year.

I know. But I'm saying the overall pattern of his career tells me he's just not good.

I want someone that thinks we are headed in the right direction but still not capable of competing to find me examples of teams that methodically improved over the course of 3-5 years in a linear fashion into a contender.

There are plenty of them, trouble is, your only using wins and losses as a measuring stick. The bears could go 5-11 this year and still be an improved team. Schedule alone dictates a 1-2 game swing in SOS.

Name them. And Wins and Losses is the biggest indicator. It's the ultimate goal of every game.

desbro would like to take this moment to point out that Trestman O's regress in the 2nd year. Its proven law of physics.

If the Bears make the playoffs I will be buying canned goods and ammunition.

Because the apocalypse is coming closely behind it.

The Bears will make the playoffs when Aaron Rodgers retires or is injured for more than 50% of the season.

Doesn't mean they won't be improved.

You do realize there are Wild Card teams right?

How about the Bears.

1999 went 7-9. Then regressed to 5-11. Then went 13-3.
2003 went 7-9. Then regressed to 5-11. Then went 11-5 and 13-3.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Who is... We?

I hope the Bears make the playoffs, but I'm not playing the field so I hope they can rock it out this season.

Dan....is that you?

I think WE are going to be a much better team. I also think OUR team will be a definite upgrade to last year.

Seahawks went 4-12, 5-11, 7-9 (twice), 11-5, and 13-3........

You asked for examples, you got some.......long story short, you were wrong.

And we would still have to beat the Lions, who swept us last year, and will probably do so again this year. yeah they lost Suh, but Ngata is no slouch, they get there entire right side of the offensive line back this year along with the best guard in the draft, they got a better center (Raolia was worthless), ,they get Tulloch back, and god help us if Ebron amounts to anything........

I didn't say it never happened. But both the Lions and Seahawks were in worse positions than we were in last year. Both record wise and player personnel.

WTH?

We were talking about progressive improvement, and it's debatable who was in a worse position when, your the one who is using the w-l record as the measuring stick, remember?

Long story short, your argument is severely flawed, let it rest already.
