Would you really be that surprised if we made the playoffs this year?

The Bears schedule is BRUTAL, you have to assume some injuries, and they would need a meteoric improvement from Cutler to compete with teams like Seattle, Denver and GB.

But don't you have to assume some injuries for EVERY team?

Do I really have to go through every teams record from 2013 to 2014 to show you the vast variations on 2/3rds of the teams? Yes, the Seattle's, New England's and Green Bays will likely be good. But for the most part, we have no idea how good a team's record is.

As it stands right now, we have the 13th hardest SOS.

For everyone completely writing off the Bears' chances to make the playoffs, tell me this -- are you absolutely convinced that the Bears can't beat out the Lions and Vikings? Let's assume you're not, which would be the correct answer since neither of those teams is that good. Now, GB is the class of the division, but let's remember that they did not have a single major injury the entire regular season in 2014. I believe their entire OL played together every snap other than week 1. And did Rodgers, Lacy, Nelson, or Cobb miss a game? I don't think so. On defense, didn't Peppers, Daniels, the secondary, and Matthews all play every game? That type of injury luck is unheard of and will revert to the mean. So 12-4 while perfectly healthy could certainly wind up as 10-6 or even 9-7 with some bad injury luck (which every team typically faces).

I am not saying the Bears WILL make the playoffs, but this is a very good coaching staff and last year's staff might have been one of the worst coaching staffs of all time. Don't underestimate the difference the jump from Trestman/Tucker/Kromer to Fox/Fangio/Gase can make. I think we might even find that some of these supposedly bad players aren't quite as bad as we thought when there is proper leadership and coaching in place. It would't shock me in the least if several players turn out much better than we thought possible. Candidates include:

Christian Jones
Bostic
Vereen
Fuller
Mason Foster
Ferguson
Lamarr Houston
(dare I say) Shea McClellin

Yes on the Lions. They will sweep the Bears, as will the Packers. That's all it will take to keep the Bears out of the playoffs.

The Bears BARELY lost to the Lions in Week 16 with Jimmy Clauson at QB. We could easily beat them at home this year. They have never been a good road team.

Christian Jones - showed some promise, constantly out of position, can that be corrected?
Bostic- Expecting the new staff to see what I see, put him out to pasture, he sucks.
Vereen- Ah yes, last years homer rookie phenom prediction. His only contribution was apparently giving Jones and Fuller coverage tips.
Fuller- Liked the pick then, still like it now, hoping for dramatic and more consistent play improvement immediately.
Mason Fosters- The beer sucks, and so does Mason.
Ferguson- If he's still on the roster in 2 years, I will be shocked.
Houston- Still have some hopes for him.

Very true. The Tillman injury was a huge blow to our CB play...which was our strength along with Fuller and Jennings. Plus the Carolina bonehead punt cost us a win. We almost beat the Lions at home with Clausen and a bunch of backups and wd shut down Minn to under 200 yards. They scored on a fake punt lol....with Bridgewater. Way overrated and by the way got beat by the Bears.

Lions are not that good and people jumping on the Minn bandwagon are going to fall off. Minn D is average and their O leaves a lot to be desired. We will beat them at home easily again. The pack will probably win the division but won't sniff the SB. Heck they were getting blown out by the Jets and lost to the Bills and Aints...badly.

Any time you want to put up some $ on who finishes with a better record, the Bears or the Lions, let me know........

I will bet you a year's salary that the Bears win the Superbowl before the Lions.

We can trade our W2 for 2015 and put a note receivable with a power of attorney in a lock box.

Deal?

Sorry silly boy, I am talking a real bet, not some stupid ass bet that would never get paid off. $50 bucks cash, put up or shut up.

If you had a note's receivable with a power of attorney, you bet your ass that is a real bet. The winner could sue the loser if they didn't pay.

I don't think the Lions will sweep the Bears. Now the Packers most likely, especially since Cutler throws the ball to Green Bay as much as Rodgers does.

Anytime you want to place a wager who has a better year Fuller or Slay...as in more picks, more forced fumbles, defensive player of the week awards, rookie of the month...whoops....Fuller has all those locked up.

Would you like to place a wager on Minn finishing better than the Bears as well? If you argue the same as you bet, I'm all in
