if he just sucked why would multiple teams try to sign him? and why would the bears keep going out of their way to hang onto him?

Well, if they went through all that trouble to never actually play him in a game, how valid can your point really be?

After watching yesterday's performance, I'd start Fales, Tebow or Brett Favre in a wheelchair.

as valid as it was when i posted it since you didnt counter it in anyway. for one thing, he hasnt really had an opportunity to play, but well see going forward. and it still stands that they obviously dont think he flat out sucks since they keep him around despite having not played him.

Just curious...
Has any one ever considered the possibility that Fales isn't starting because he might be even worse than Clausen ?

Another scenario is that the FO is intelligent enough to know that Bear Turds are about as intelligent as a turd and when Fales fails with the joke we call an offence the Bear turds will turn on him like they do with every QB we have had for the last 60 years. Maybe they are trying to save his career from the unfathomably stupid Bears fans base until they can put Fales in a situation where he could succeed ...

Fales vs Carr 2. Last time these two went head to head over a 1000 yards passing and 10+ td passes

Yup. Fales owns Carr. Last time they went up against each other Fales put up 37/45 for 547 yards with 6 TD and 0 INT.

Since this is the NFL now and not college, I predict that Fales will put up 29/40 for 400 yards with 4 TD and 0 INT on Sunday.

Fales was dinged last year in is emergency roll and had surgery in the off season with only 2 weeks of camp. You know how a team feels about it's players at the final 53 cut down.

Thought the Bears might have put him in in the 4th quarter since they were down by 4 scores.

To people who said in the IGT "I don't understand why they don't just put Fales in": I agree, you don't understand.

Yes, Clausen sucks (duh). He also was playing without the number 1 or 2 WRs against a premier defense with its pride on the line. Seattle doesn't look great but they deserve at least a little credit.

"How can Fales actually be any worse than Clausen?" is not a rhetorical question to John Fox. Coaches are paid large sums of money to have very specific answers to those kinds of questions. (Yes, they are fallible and sometimes their answers are wrong). The question Fox is actually asking himself is: "What combination of personnel, (and with what adjustments in scheme) gives us the best chance to win next week?

I guarantee he is not thinking, in week 4 of a 16 week season, that the season is over and we might as well throw our third string qb into a real game situation just to see what we might have for next year. He is also not thinking we may as well tank for a higher draft pick - that is how (some) fans think. A lot of fans were also sure Fales would be poached if he was placed on the PS instead of making the 53 last year, which says a lot about them as judges of talent.

Fox is thinking how can we score some points, get some Ws, get the season turned in a positive direction? I think the season will be further along and more obviously lost before he starts auditioning third stringers just to see what they can do in starting roles.

Um, the Patriots did try to poach him last year, which is why we had to promote him to the active roster.

I'd start the brat guy at the stadium before I would start Clausen.

Another indictment of the offense. I do not think that they targeted Forte once other than the play where Clausen got mauled. Why didn't they ever TRY to pass to him. He was their best receiver other than Bennett.

I say start Fales the rest of the way

3 things could happen…

1.) he's terrible, Bears keep losing, draft Goff #1

2.) he's mediocre, proves he's a good backup, Bears keep losing but by less lol

3.) he lights it up, QB of the future or trade bait

Those are all wins
