I was thinking about the small list of players in the league that I would trade Derrick Rose for until I came to an interesting conclusion. There's no one on the list. No, Derrick Rose isn't the best player in the...

Man this is tough. Maybe Durant, but Durant does not drive a lot.

Nope.

Even if it means getting a very good player in return. Derrick Rose is our guy, you don't get rid of him.

There's only two that I would even begin to consider:

Dwight Howard

Kevin Durant

And I'm pretty sure I would say no after heavy contemplation.

I'd trade Rose no doubt for LeBron, Durant, Paul or Russell Westbrook.

Dwight Howard has peaked and although he's still a hell of a player, his offensive game is stagnant.

Strongly, strongly, strongly disagree.

Maybe if it was last summer, I would have traded him for LeBron James. But the guy has proven that he isn't dedicated to winning as much as he is having laughs and 'bringing his talents to' South Beach.

Paul is very debatable for who is going to end up the better player... but I say Rose will surpass him.

As for Westbrook, I'm a huge fan of his but there's no way the Bulls should ever consider giving up Rose for him. A lot of Westbrook's high percentage looks has a lot to do with being teammates with Durant. He is a great player, but you can basically name it (besides defense and rebounding) and Rose does it better.

As for Dwight Howard, he's added a little bit of shooting touch and a few post moves. The guy is averaging 22-23 points per-game on over 60% from the floor... that's pretty damn effective offense for a guy who averages 13 shot attempts per-game. He's probably going to be the MVP this season.

Its not all about winning championships to me, i mean thats the ultimate goal and what i want but not for the price of Rose.

Id rather lose with Rose than trade him and take a chance with all of the players mentioned in this thread...All of whom havent won a championship either. All i know is that Rose is a hometown kid, the face of the franchise and has proven in his 2+ years in the league that he wants to win, works hard to win and improve his game and when its all said and done, can very well be the best PG in the NBA. The progression ive seen in Rose is the same i saw in Wade his first few seasons and i watched almost every Heat game and attended countless others.

I want the Bulls to win with Rose and Noah and if they ever do win another championship, i'll be severely disappointed if it isnt with our stud PG-C combo.

I'm sorry but half of your post is fucking stupid. Anyone who would trade Rose straight up for Paul or Westbrook needs to be shot square between the eyes. :turrible:

Yeah, so fucking Special person I know.

Rose: 26.6 PPG, 8.2 APG, 22.7 PER

Westbrook: 23.8 PPG, 8.6 APG, 26.1 PER

And they are the same age, and Westbrook plays significantly better defense.

But yeah, totally Special person.

Deron Williams. God, I love watching him play.

It did help seeing him play at Illinois.

Oh and that Chris Paul piece of shit who leads the league in steals, is the best defensive PG in the game and leads all NBA players in PER.

But yeah, again Special person mainly because we don't watch other teams.

PER is not the end-all be-all measure of a player's worth. Amare Stoudemire's career PER is over that of the likes of Isiah Thomas. I'm not saying Westbrook isn't a top 4 or 5 PG but Rose is definitely better.

Westbrook has somewhat better defense than Rose, but is not an all-team defender. Westbrook is a slightly better rebounder than Rose.

Rose is a better overall shooter, ball-handler, finisher around the rim, and at least the passer as Westbrook. He's also stronger and probably a little faster.

Rose >>> Paul >>>>>>>>>>> Westbrook

This post is just ridulous.

Yup I forgot that you think Paul is the greatest baller of all-time. :turrible:

You said Rose >>> Paul. The fact that you believe Rose is that much better than Paul blows your credibility right out of the window.

westbrook isn't the focus point of his offense. If you watched a thunder game, you'd realize that westrbook is posting those numbers while being the second option.

If westbrook wasn't the focus pt of his offense, his stats wouldn't be as great. Rose is playing with deng, taj, and joahkim. They're good players, but they dont really draw attention away from rose. So while rose is getting trippled team, westbrook has wide open lanes.

you should compare rose's stats to durant's stats for a faire comparison.

I watch a ton of Thunder games. I know he's the 2nd option...

As far as the bolded poart, we don't have a ton of examples of that, but this year when Durant missed the game Westbrook put up 31 in a win against Boston.

I'd trade Rose for:

Durant, Howard, Paul, D-Williams, Chris Paul. I'd say Kobe and Wade as well but they are getting a bit up there in age/wear and tear. Maybe 'Melo too.
