Would you vote them in?

That's not the scenario. Let me clarify. Anyone you vote no for you never get to vote for again. Still have the same list?

Correct, I do not feel I "left anyone off". I don't value the save as much as everyone else does. If I was to ever put a closer in, MAYBE Rivera but I'm not putting Hoffman in for number of saves.

Eh, I'm not a giant fan of specialists getting in to the Hall of Fame for baseball.
Perhaps they shouldn't accept a paycheck or for that matter even play the game then.

I don't think Larry Walker should get in. He had the Coors effect. His prime years were terrific. The rest were good. I would put him as the hall of very very good.

I read that every ballot so far has had Griffey on it. It won't stay that way but they are predicting he may have the highest vote in history.

99% isn't bad doe. lol The most interesting thing to me is Bonds and Clemens jumping from 7% last year to over 40% each this year.

Hoffman should get in. He got the most out of his stuff.

To me a HoF type was a player that defined an era. Hoff was one of them. Jr was also up until his injuries.

Lee Smith before anyone else because he has waited so long. You would think a career record holder would be in.

So, IOW, the players suffer for his own personal protest. How rich. The guy wouldn't have a friggin job if it wasn't for those very players.

I am with you, but the reverse is true as well. Without the media coverage the players would have no job.

I'd have to give that some long thought. Without fans the players would have no job, but media? If you consider the media a direct conduit to the fans then, yes I would agree but isnt that a matter of degrees though? Without the game the baseball media would have no job as well so while the whole thing is symbiotic I think the black and white answer of without media coverage the players would have no job is overly simplistic. It's much more nuanced than that.

Must be sicker than I thought. Completely misread that on ESPN ticker. Still a pretty big jump. Mike and Mike were talking this morning about it. Seems the tide is turning on PED users.

The spectacle creates the media coverage. Nobody cares about baseball because ESPN tells them to do so.

Might be to late with the 10 year rule now. Also some have lost out on it already (mcgwire, palmeiro to name a quick two)

Without the media the fans would know nothing of the game to attend and thus no players. It's why you don't have 10,000 fans watching your whiffle ball game in your back yard. I don't think it's much more complicated than that.
