The list goes on but to save rambling. I think a lot of people don't even know what films are remakes most of the time anyways. Bet 10% of people knew that Richard Pryors Brewsters Millions was a remake same with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

I'll add Cape Fear, The Thing, Scarface (I don't care for it, but others like it), The Maltese Falcon, 3:10 to Yuma and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A Fistful of Dollars and The Magnificent Seven were just remakes of Kurosawa films.

I don't know why people have a problem with it. If the new movie looks good, I'll check it out. If not, I'll skip it. It doesn't change the original one.

while yes one of them was black I wasn't nor do I really pay attention to skin color I was thinking of particular actors I thought would be funny cast in a ghostbusters story line

I probably won't have much inclination to go see it. Sorry but I see a lot more female bodily fluid jokes and general fat person falling down gags in this movie. The first film was as clever as it was offbeat.

Serious Poster hit it on the head with what could be a great lineup. Vaughn as Venkman would be a good choice. Ferrell as Stanz would be brilliant as well. Not sure about Luke Wilson as Egon may or may not work but but Qualls could probably pull off Louis Tully pretty well. If you wanted a black actor there are some pretty good comedic ones that would play the Winston role well. Chris Tucker comes to mind, he has done buddy stuff fairly well. He is goofy but would work.

Another shameless plundering and cash grab of a much beloved title from yesteryear.

This is one of many reasons I'm sure Bill Murray wanted nothing to do with it. They also announced a remake of 'Big Trouble in Little China' starring Dwayne Johnson.

The American version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was very well done.
There are others, but there aren't many.

Yeah, pretty much every movie was based on a story already written or done. That's why it makes me laugh when people say Hollywood is out of original ideas. They never really had any. It's just that people know the source material a lot better these days. This new Ghostbusters is definitely going to suck though.
