The list goes on but to save rambling. I think a lot of people don't even know what films are remakes most of the time anyways. Bet 10% of people knew that Richard Pryors Brewsters Millions was a remake same with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I'll add Cape Fear, The Thing, Scarface (I don't care for it, but others like it), The Maltese Falcon, 3:10 to Yuma and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A Fistful of Dollars and The Magnificent Seven were just remakes of Kurosawa films.
I don't know why people have a problem with it. If the new movie looks good, I'll check it out. If not, I'll skip it. It doesn't change the original one.
