Tim patrick still played 59% of the snaps. Just because he was not targeted does not mean he wasn't used.
BJ already said he fits his scheme around the players. If he had 3 great WR's like the bears had this year I'm sure he'd have used them all.
We absolutely need a better #3 WR as Scott does nothing well, including blocking.
You actually proved my point.
Between the two...
Kmet >>>>>>> Scott
So who will be utilized again?
Also, "used" versus "targets" is one of the stupidest hair splittings I've read in awhile. I am not exactly sure what point you are trying to make. If you're not being targeted you are....
1) Probably not that good
2) Probably not open
3) Really far down the list of people that QB likes to throw to
4) Essentially a decoy
So, yes, we could have a "decoy" out there who gets few targets. If that is the definition of "used" then so be it. My definition traditionally involved targets, receptions, plays longer than 20 yards, TDs, etc. You know, like, statistics?
Lastly, I do not think anyone in this thread thinks we want to keep Scott at #3 if Allen is gone. Quite frankly, KA leaving would probably be a good thing because we could probably add speed in FA or the Draft and it would likely be much cheaper to do so.
Speculating on what BJ is "willing" to do is not as useful to what he actually has done. So far, his system benefits a two WR, one TE passing game. The good news is we have that. It was probably another big selling point for BJ that he could move in with a similar setup of talent.
