Im gonna ask the same question i did when after maybe 4 or so years of Ryan Pace. From best to worst, how many Bears players can you name before you get to a guy drafted by the GM?

The foundation of this team is inherited players and guys he traded for. The Panthers trade was extremely lucky and you cant knock him for that but i think people love to give him a little too much credit for something even the average fan was saying they should do. When you get a massive haul in a trade and on top of that the 1st you receive ends up being the #1 overall that gives you the "generational" QB who makes everyone around him better, i think you chop a year off what people would consider enough time to rebuild.

The excuses are done. He's the guy who decided to build the secondary before the DL. He put more emphasis on WR than OL. QB struggles because of the pressure? Blame Poles. Depth sucks? Whos to blame? Coach is trash? I think he was forced on Poles but the shills here are adamant it was Poles guy, so take the heat.

Maybe when we stop overrating every player because the Bears drafted them, we'll get more honest opinions on the GM.
Still accurate

He's make cute pick after cute pick while never fully solidifying either line.

While he's added the overall talent level of the OL, Thuney is old and Johnson just was injured the entire year and Jones is guaranteed to be not 100% heading into the season. You're one injury away from shit being patchwork and all of those weapons being worthless once again.

This team is built to be frontrunners and I hate it. The groups that matter the most are fragile, shallow and relying on old cornerstones in a new environment.

I love what the Jets are doing in giving Justin a monstrous OL, the move the Browns pulled off to get extra assets while addressing the trenches instead of the cutest pick ever and the Rams grabbing a 2026 first from a team that's perpetually in the bottom half of the league.

OMG the draft is over already. We can't add anymore players.

I expect a safety to cover for Brisker, and a running back

Poles has been bad after the 2nd round and he hasn't exactly hit any grand slams with his premium picks.

The depth has been bad and he's clearly prioritized players on the outside more than on the interior.

I'm a fan of the team and I want them to be good but I don't expect them to be with this dude's philosophy.

This feels like Aaron Donald all over again. All the players taken right before and going with a player that had an injury right before the draft.

This feels like that entire Emery/Trestman teaming again. Complete overhaul on offense that seems good on paper until the QB continues to suck anyhow while the defense keeps getting overlooked until the complete lack of any pass rush leads to shootouts with teams that have no business scoring five or six TDs on any professional football team.

But, hey, maybe this time it will work!

I still think he's the most qualified we've had.

I don't think Flus was his choice. The way of the Bears is the rookie GM gets to pick his 2nd HC, sort of, with some suggestions from McCaskeys.

My main questions are why he sticks to people like VJJ and Morgan.

I'm over him. He's GM in name only.

He probably stuck to VJJ and Morgan (and Flus, and Getsy) because they didn't give him permission to move on yet.
He believes in the trenches first but no HC has given him permission to actually do anything about them so he goes about his day doing what he's told instead of saying no.

Still the most qualified just doesn't have the balls to do the job.

Rick Smith, who was largely terrible after rd 2, would've drafted 6 pro bowlers to this point with similar draft capital as Poles has had in 3+ years. That dude was money in 1st 2 rounds. When will Poles get to 1 pro bowler with his draft picks?

I am hoping Mike Green is still available and the Bears take him. These may be final two hopes.

The Bears do not have 5 starters on either side of the line.

But sure, draft a backup TE at 10th overall, lol

Good thing we have two 2nd round picks.

You don’t believe this
Except I do. Sorry.
