I believe he was poisoned. Sorry about the conspiracies. The chances that a healthy 49 year old with no underlining health conditions would go die after having a bad cold and then bronchitis is extremely unlikely. Yeah it can happen... Happened to Kyle Korver's brother who died from the flu several years ago. But we are talking extremely low chances.

This guy was detained for wearing a *** pride shirt. They didn't like him. And then when he was sick, they gave him some special and strong medicine whatever that means. Just my opinion but with the facts that have been presented, I think poisoning is the most likely event that took place in Qatar. They have a history of killing people they don't like for no reason.
Until US Authorities are able to examine and perform an autopsy, I think it's fair to have suspicions. The day before he writes about how Qatari officials DGAF about migrant worker deaths to build their stadiums and host the World Cup and he dies less than 24 hours later? It's super sus until proven otherwise.

Not journalists but treatment to westerners in general especially those that defy their rules. There have been general guidelines about precautions to take about visiting some Muslim countries. It is not a surprise anything I am saying.

Because I recognize these threats Muslims have towards us, doesn’t make me biased.

If my opinion on this isolated event which is solely an opinion upsets or offends you, then it is what it is. But I have a right to express that opinion until evidence comes out to refute it.

How many Westerners has Qatar killed for disagreeing with them? Please link to your source.

No one said you dont have a right to express your opinion. I just have a right to point out it is prejudiced.

I don’t know. My opinion is not based on a factual comparison. It’s based on suspicion.

There is a reason why wars have gone on through the centuries with the Muslims. Read the Koran. It's as simple as that. I would pray that moral people within the Moslem religion would outright reject the Koran and the hate filled teachings in it.

Agreed.

I don’t know if Remy is arguing with me because he denies there is anti-American sentiment in Qatar… or he wants me to prove the statistical probability of a American murder in Qatar compared with a flu related death in a 49 year old.

In an episode of the podcast Futbol with Grant Wahl, published days before his death on December 6, he had complained of feeling unwell. “It had gotten pretty bad in terms of like the tightness in my chest, tightness, pressure. Feeling pretty hairy, bad,” Wahl told co-host Chris Wittyngham in the episode.

Tightness/pressure in the chest? A rational person would suspect a cardiac event...

Right you are prejudging the situatuon based on your bias against Muslims. That is what we call prejudice.

See The Hawk is just less subtle about his prejudice.

No I am saying anti-American sentiment genereally is not cause to believe Qatar is involved specifically in the absence of any real evidence. Again that is how prejudice works.

Those are very vague symptoms that a lot of people with chest congestion experience.

You can say I am using prejudice. I disagree. It is quite the coincidence for this to happen here.

And it doesn’t matter what I think. Evidence needs to be brought to the table before anyone can say anything definitive.

It's certainly possible it was a cardiac event or any another illness that caused his death. Where the suspicion comes from is that he was previously detained for 30 minutes over a rainbow shirt a couple weeks back. The day before he dies, he writes about how Qatari officials have shown zero remorse over any worker (foreign or otherwise) who died helping build the stadiums to host the World Cup. Then less than 24 hours later, he dies.

I hope he wasn't poisoned and that it was simply him dying of an unfortunate illness. It's just crazy timing given the critical nature of the story (Qatari officials not caring about workers dying) he wrote and him being dead inside 24 hours. Thus why I feel it's fair to have suspicions of how he died until US authorities have a chance to perform an autopsy and examine his body.

How are you not? You agree you have no evidence. And you admit your opinion is based on your general view on Muslims hating us.

Unfortunately in the world we live in, even after an autopsy, there's no reason to believe anything (in my opinion). Let the guy rest in peace.

Christians have done plenty of violence over the years in the name of Christ. The Crusaders ring a bell? Do you call on 'the Christians to reject the bible and it's hate filled teachings in it' too or do you only hold that opinion on Muslims?

Back on topic - I swear this World Cup has had more extra time than any other tournament I've ever seen. Every match is like 8 minutes or more. It's crazy.
