Yeah Bookie... actually, that is exactly what he seems to be doing. Apparently he's going on around in the prison acting like he's joker...

He looks more like Ronald McDonald.

If I ran a news place, I would report any mass shooter such as this guy, or the Gabby Giffords guy, as John Doe. These obviously not right individuals are looking for notoriety. Buy giving him a name, dissecting everything they did, even years before they went nuts, feeds them.

The way I see it, he was wearing a ballistic helmet, vest, socks, and essentially, underwear. He wanted to survive to see what he had done.

Sad but true. He probably would enjoy seeing all of the media coverage. I wonder if he is allowed to see it or is in solitary confinement and not allowed access to any of it.

Can anybody just go out and buy that stuff? I wouldn't even know where to shop for stuff like that.

I think he may be in solitary.

Pete I was asking myself a similar question as I listened to all the callers on the radio programs today. I asked myself the question many of them were asking: "Why does someone need that stuff anyway?" After thinking long and hard about it, the only reason I can come up with is that I think many of those tactical items are cool. Maybe at the onset of the Zombie Apocalypse they may come in handy. Until then, they are just used for Halloween costumes.

To those who ask about certain guns or gear "Why do you need that?" I will reply the same. I don't "need" any of it. I simply choose to own it. An entry vest, a helmet, a holster, a gas mask......etc. are just items on a store shelf. I chose to spend my money on some of them. I could ask the same question of some people who buy a Mercedes-Benz automobile: "Why do you need that?" They don't. However, for whatever reason, they decided to spend their money on it.

I think the vast majority of folks who take issue with certain guns or accessories are those who have no idea what the differences are. Many of those people have never owned a gun, will never own a gun, and really don't want you to own one either. (Assault Weapons Ban and the laughable laws that they made trying to depict one gun versus another). I am not going to turn this into another gun-control debate thread (because we have had several in the past, and this isn't the thread or the time), and I'm glad nobody else had turned the thread in that direction either. However, I will say that the weapons don't really matter. A .22 pistol can kill a person, just like a hunting rifle, just like a bow and arrow, just like _________________( insert someone's choice ). In this particular situation, people again are blaming guns for the mass death, but this kid could have easily just brought a bomb in his backpack and killed many more people if he wanted to.

is it wrong that when I first heard about the 6 year old girl and her mother all I can think about is why the **** is there a 6 year old girl at a pg-13 movie with her mother after midnight...

Wrong? No. Stupid? Yes. Kids that aren't 13, watch PG-13 movies. Sometimes they stay up past their bedtime to do it. Who cares?

What about the folks that had a 3 month and a 4 year old in the theater?

To me, those are crappy people. Not cause the took the kid to a movie late, but because they don't give a shit about the other people that paid money to see this movie and not be disturbed by a 4 year old that may be cranky or bouncing around and not paying attention, and having a 3 month old wake up and start crying.

Absolutely agreed about that. I brought my 5 year old son to watch The Avengers(PG-13, THE HORROR), and he sat through the entire 2+ hour movie. We got up once to go to the bathroom and get a popcorn refill. Aside from getting really excited during certain scenes he was fine. I just don't see the big deal bringing kids to movies as long as they understand that it's just a movie and will sit and watch it without disturbing people. Every movie is different, of course, and there are some movies there's no way I'd let him watch. A six year old at the premier showing of a PG13 rated Batman movie? Don't see a big deal at all.

When I went to see the Dark Knight, some ***** brought a baby in a stroller. I was furious.

My vest isn't body armor Bri. I don't know if the movie shooter was wearing body armor or just a vest like mine. As far as a gun that shoots 100 rounds, it isn't the gun itself, it is the size of the magazine. The benefit I see to a large capacity magazine is that I get to spend more time shooting and less time reloading. (To me, that is a benefit, but I see where others may think it is a drawback).

I have zero problem with bringing a kid to see a movie. I don't care what rating they give it. It could be R for all I care, I can't stand the rating system. It is really flawed. But that a discussion for another thread.

Some kids can handle violence or sexual situations better then other. You, as a parent, should know what you child can and cannot handle. If he gets scared seeing car accidents, don't take em to a demolition derby.

What angers me is seeing a stroller, like Rex saw, or kids that can't sit and watch the flick or make noise. Do that at home, you inconsiderate fucks.
