One of the guys in the theater is suing Warner Bros. and AMC because he was traumatized. I believe I read he was not severely injured (or at all) but his friend died.

The lawyer he got is a known TMZ hollywood laywer who has represented a paparazzi against sean penn, a student against a teacher in a slapping incident, and and I guess a bunch of other money mongering suits as reported on his facebook page.

The best part about Bale is that he did this on HIS own. Nobody told him to go, he did it on his own.

That's respectable.

True, but with all the pending lawsuits that have started, Warner Bros. ...don't want an apology to appear as an admission of guilt so they stayed clear.

It's silly that anyone would try to sue the movie production company. The only people that should be sued are the owners of the movie theater. Why didn't a loud alarm sound when the killer went through a fire door at the back of the theater to gear up?

Cause and alarm would disturb the movie going experience. Not that some crazy throwing homemade bombs and shooting a bunch of people doesn't do that either, but I would assume that's the reason there aren't alarms on those doors. When I was younger and my folks took me to movies we would always use those doors when we left. So far as I know, those aren't emergency doors, or weren't back then. Id be willing to bet that they will have alarms on them starting now, or at least be monitored be electronics.

I believe he opened the door and chocked it open, then left through the front entrance and came back through the back door. I really don't think there is anything that could have happened at that time to stop him. If someone read the journal he sent to the college that detailed everything, maybe that would have stopped it.

He entered the theater with the rest of the audience, sat down, then went to the back exit door (fire exit if you will), propped it open, geared up, then re-entered through that door and set off the smoke grenades.

I wonder if CO or Aurora fire and building codes were followed in regards to those doors...that's all.

I always just thought those were exit doors. I've seen people use them quite often.

I as well assumed they were emergency exits as well as exits. I never got the impression of a fire exit, but typically that would be an "emergency exit".

Good point, probably has/will be looked into.

I've used one to duck out for a smoke during a shitty movie with a shitty date.

has it turned into a heavy political thing yet?

After two very high profile shootings in Toronto over the past month (Gangbanger opened fire on someone in a mall, hitting 12, killing 2. Gangbanger opened fire at a house party hitting 24, killing 2) The city is now talking about a complete firearm ban in Toronto, and an ammunitions ban.

I hope cities in the USA aren't stupid enough to think that a ban on guns will keep criminals from using them.

I just want to know how ANYONE can be stupid enough to think a ban on guns or ammunition will keep criminals from killing people with them..... Seriously, where's the logic?

That's been the logic in Canada since the 70's

Whenever somebody dies at the hands of a gun, the thought process is "lets put more restrictions on guns! Lets take away guns! Criminals won't be able to use guns if they are illegal herp derp"
