After two very high profile shootings in Toronto over the past month (Gangbanger opened fire on someone in a mall, hitting 12, killing 2. Gangbanger opened fire at a house party hitting 24, killing 2) The city is now talking about a complete firearm ban in Toronto, and an ammunitions ban.



I hope cities in the USA aren't stupid enough to think that a ban on guns will keep criminals from using them.

Yeah, the gun control seems to be working very well in Chicago, doesn't it? I think they are on pace for a record number of shootings right now. With the stiffest gun control in the country, more or less. Fucking idiots...

Styled like something you'd see on Reddit, the billboard features side-by-side pictures of the two men with the words "kills 12 in movie theater with assault rifle, everyone freaks out" over Holmes' picture, and "kills thousands with his foreign policy, wins nobel peace prize" over Obama's picture. Maurice Clements is the guy in charge the billboard. He's part of a group who honor the memory of Libertarian Ralph Smeed. He says the group is angry over Obama not bringing the troops home. "We’re all outraged over that killing in Aurora, Colo., but we’re not outraged over the boys killed in Afghanistan," Clements said. Locals think the billboard is "pathetic," and "abhorrant."

Until my utopia of no guns exists, I am grateful that I live in southern Illinois because I do have a gun next to my bed

And I am jealous of that. I can't afford the four necessary licences to own a handgun (and even then it would be useless, because by law I have to have the gun locked in a safe, with a trigger lock, and the ammo locked in a separate safe. (My entire family will be dead by the time I get the trigger lock off)

Honestly, regardless of pop culture and hero vigilante lore, if someone broke in your house in the middle of the night, it is going to take your a while to wake up, get your bearings, grab your gun, load it, find the bad guy, and shoot him. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise, probably doesn't have much experience with guns.

I live in a very small place lol. And before my dog was deemed illegal by the nanny state I live in, that could have alerted me to an intruder as well.
