if he COULD have scored 26-27 PPG? Then why didnt he? Because a couple of more shots would sacrifice winning?

cmon quit making excuses this is getting pitiful

I disagree on Ewing and Barkley comparable to Pippen. Both were better players than Pippen. But, you said Ewing didn't show up in enough big games...the same can't be said for Pippen?

Furthermore, I don't think it hurts Pippen's legacy nor is it an insult that he is being compared to a list of hall of fame players.

Sure pippen had bad games. Even bad series statistically. Everybody has. But he's won alot of games for the bulls too. And ewing had capable teams.

Because its not just two shots. he's was the pg. The team was more successful with everybody getting involved. And he probaly needed an extra 5 or 6 shots to make about 2 or 3 xtra baskets. But I think it sacrifices his help defense, his rebounding, it hinders the rest of his teammates involement. I just don't see how him shooting more shots at the expense of something else would be benificial to the team. Maybe to his end of the game stats but not the team. Im firmly convinced if pippen avg 26 ppg in 94 on let's say 46% shooting, the bulls go from 55 wins to 48 wins. Horace grant and bj armstrong don't make the all star team etc. Now there were some games in which I wish he would've scored more. But that's holds true for all great players. They've all come up short. The difference as I've always preached is they've had multiple opportunties. You can't say the same for pippen. Look at dirk nowitzki. 10 plus years failure after failure. And then he leads the mavs this year (while shooting 42%) to a title, and he's a friggn god.

Don't trip brother...These idiotd just can't grasp the concept because of there inner most hate for pippen....Why you think I stopped responding to the thread....Now the whole world that reads it can see how foolish and ignorant nt they are....Ill say it one more time for the jerks that are blind and deaf....PIPPEN WAS GREAT AND EXCELLED IN EVERY SINGLE CATAGORY THAT BASKETBALL HASS TO OFFER..THERE ARE ONLY A HANDFUL OF PLAYERS IN NBA HISTORY THAT THE SAME CAN BE SAID ABOUT...THAT'S WHAT MAKES PIPPEN SPECIAL..SCOTTIE WAS A TRUE CATALYST.....

And Ewing didn't win games for the Knicks? BOTH would disappear in clutch moments.

Sure he did. But he didn't win. Pippen had plenty of clutch moments for the bulls and helped lead them to 6 championships.

So Scottie was more clutch because he won titles? Or was he actually on a team with the best big game performer of NBA history? I think it was the latter. Pippen did what everybody else did in clutch moments...watch Jordan.

I took the liberty of posting scottie pippens stats in closeout games

91
28/8/6 72%
23/6/10 39%
32/13/7 46% with five stls and he was the catalyst in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

92
31/8/5 52%
17/11/11 64%
29/12/5 48%
26/5/4 53% he lead the bulls comeback while jordan watched from the bench

93
11/5/5 63%
17/4/4 44%
24/6/7 50%
23/12/5 46%

94
23/11/6 46%
20/16/5 36%

95
24/8/6 60%
26/12/6 53%

96
22/18/10 50%
15/11/2 42%
12/5/8 36%

97 remember he hurt his back in the first round on the closeout game 3 making the game winning dunk and played the rest of the playoffs with that bad back

20/7/4 44%
15/5/7 32%
inj in the clinching game vs the heat
23/9/2 35%

98
13/510 17% terrible shooting
16/8/5 31%
17/12/3 33% had a bad shooting series but everybody acknowledged that he shut the pacers down defensively.
7/4/4 in limited minutes and played with that bad back. But still managed to hit 2 big shots late in the fourth

Pippen had amazing cltuch games in the playoffs. The only time he had bad games, were cuz he was injured. And this is just stats. I havnt even mentioned what he did on the defensive side of the ball. And all thes games i listed were closeout games. So you know pippen and the bulls got the other teams best. So you saying all pippen did was watch jordan in big playoff games is a boldfaced lie.

Thank you for pip statistics mate. The stats are showing us that Scottie played a big role in bulls wins. mj couldn't win a tittle without pippen and phil jackson. Both are great players and talented.

Oh yeah, he was the star of all stars on allstar weekend 1994 in minneapolis...if you get a chance to watch the full game, listen to the broadcast announcers throughout the game and there thoughts about pippen as the best all around player in the league...And how Magic Johnson was on Pippens nutz the whole game..Magic Johnson called Pippen "a beutiful basketball player"...That came right from the horses mouth....
.....
Also if you ever watched the 1995 game where Jordan#45 scores 55 points in Madison Garden in during his comeback, listen to the announcers comments about pippen throughout the game....They call him and I quote, "THE BEST PLAYER IN TH LEAGUE"...period!!!!!!!..But wait a minute Mr.Hefner, didn't you write on this board that Pippen was never considered the best player in the league at any point in his career??????? Hmmmmmmm!!!!!...Its funny how lies catch up with you *ue *efner...LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pippen won championships because of Jordan one million times more than vice versa.

As much as Skip Bayless pisses me off, he said it best. Pippen made a living off of all the double and triple teams Jordan would get.

Grant Hill clone in Pippens' place and they might have won the title in '94 without Jordan.

Jordan changed his style of game in 92 season after bulls won their first tittle. He started to work on the court less then in previous season. i saw it in regulare season games, not in every game but still it took place. he scored well but attitude to game has changed . it is my opinion. in playoffs mj activated as it is supposed to be and bulls crashed their opponents in 1st round. in game 1 of east semifinals nulls had a physical oppenent - knicks. they loose 1st game at home and learned important lesson - don't play easy and heartless. and since game 2 we saw bulls team like it was in 91 postseason games. they worked harder and harder in each possesion on both sides of the court.
what i would like to say about pippen in 92 season that he continued to develope his game and was the base of bulls defense for my opinion. handling the ball, help defense, pressure, smart basketball in one word.
so pippen and mj helped each other in different situations on the court, they made each other better not only like players but like teammates and more importantly like team.
