I am looking forward to it.
I have never gone to a midnight release, but I am for this movie.

Based on all the trailers, The "fight scene" between bats and superman is borrowing heavily from the graphic novel turned animated movie "Dark Knight Returns part 2" (actually available on hbo on demand if you have it i believe).
The suit Batman wears when fighting superman borrows heavily from the unique suit in that novel... from the metal cowl to the spikes on the soles of the boots, it is very similar.

Batman pretty much lures Superman in to an abandoned few blocks, and has meticulously planned the fight. (of course he has- it is the only way he has a chance. The animated Batman is a meticulous planner- a tactician above all else, preparing for any variable that might arise.)

There will be kryptonite in Batmans arsenal as well- Superman is shown to be bleeding in the trailer... Not something batman could accomplish without Kryptonite.
Additionally, in the latest trailer- Batman blocks a punch from superman. Superman looks shocked. I am willing to bet there is either kryptonite in the metal of Batmans suit, or perhaps an aeresol spray of it.

Regardless- Should be badass. Zods body wound up in Luthors hands... so Lexcorp must have tried cloning him or whatnot and winds up creating Doomsday- the real villian of the movie.

Wild guess- Luthor realizes Superman is weakened by Kryptonite (possibly after Batman figures it out) and begins to carry some- His shaggy head of hair falls out from the radiation by the end of the move.

Wild guess number 2- There is a scene where batman is fighting an army of guys with superman patches. Gotta be a dream, it looks like Batman snaps a dudes neck. However, the weird flying bug guys in the background look like parademons from apocolypse... maybe Darkseid is the villian in the next movie?

Soory bout the geek thread. Had to.

Wild guess #3. This movie will suck.

So many non believers!

Superman is a shitty character and super grim, non Christopher Nolan Batman is garbage.

I enjoyed the new superman- The campy boy scout Superman of my youth was not enjoyable to me.
In the DC universe, They shifted the boy scout persona on to Shazam, and made Superman a little more jaded.
I liked that move- Shazam is still a kid, and of course looks at everything with rose colored glasses.
Superman on the other hand is an alien that is doing his best to live as a human, who carries the ability to save or destroy humanity, and is for all he knows the last member of his race. That would make me a little moody.

As for non-Christopher Nolan batman being garbage... till now you are correct in the movie world. All attempts have been terrible. Nolans were the best of a bad lot- but even they had some awful crap in them. They just had enough good to offset them.
Waynes obsession with Rachel did not fit, The voice bale used was virtually intolerable, and most of all, the rage that Batman showed throughout the series was very un-batman like.
When dealing with the joker, there was too much yelling and screaming and losing his cool.

I anxiously await the movie and the new Batman. I was a little less than thrilled with the casting choice, but then again I despised Heath Ledger so much that I avoided seeing him as the joker until it came out on cable.... and I was absolutely stunned at how good he was. That version of the Joker is way off base from the typical joker... but it worked, and it was amazing. Almost perfect all the way around.

I can dig little changes to fit a new vision, and I cannot wait to see how things go.

I'm a huge DC guy. That being said, I'm not as up for this as maybe I should be. Zack Snyder will absolutely bring incredible fight scenes to the movie, that Batman fight scene in the beginning of the newest trailer is without a doubt the best Batman has ever looked in combat. His fighting style borrows heavily from the Arkham games, smart move.

It's the plot and character development that have me worried, not Snyder's forte. Man Of Steel was fine. People need to get over the fact that Superman isn't that boy scout in this world. What bothers me most is Batman, or should I say Frank Miller's Batman, which should scare the pants off of any loyal Batfan. Batman Year One was great, DKR is vastly overrated in my book, and everything he's done since has been utter garbage. He's grossly misrepresented Batman for a long, long, time.

Ben Affleck has actually done script rewrites, on set, in the Batsuit. I dunno what inadequacies caused the changes but you would assume Affleck has looked at the script and time and time again and thought, "Batman wouldn't say that."

So that brings hope. A lot of characters and cooks in the kitchen on this which is never a good sign.

On another note, and I hate to say it because Jared Leto's Joker is atrocious, but damn Suicide Squad looks like a riot. Also, from the very few scenes available, the Wonder Woman movie looks great as well.

We shall see.

P.S. I hope that Luthor uses Zod's body to create Bizarro instead of it being linked to Doomsday.

P.S.S The Death Of Superman book was so popular in the early 90's it brought a surge to comic sales because Superman was finally defeated. I find it weird and definitely clunky that they're putting Doomsday and Batman in the same film because, if Batman can go toe to toe with Supes than what makes Doomsday so special???

I'm a huge Marvel fan (mostly X-man) but yes I am looking forward to this as it represents something new to the genre ie superheros fighting. And it will come before Civil War which also has a similar theme so that will help make it feel fresh. They are also doing something new where they will release it PG-13 in the theaters but rated R for the DVD which will help with the replay value IMO.

I hated Marvel comics growing up, but the movies have me hooked. (except spider man and fantastic four... doubt I would like any incarnation of them)

Doesn't have to be either or.

It does look brutal and efficient- and far less clunky than any other batman. The nolan movies were great, but Batman never looked particularly agile- which is his bread and butter.

I am none to concerned about character development- I would be willing to bet they follow the man of steel mold and throw in the pertinent stuff when it is needed instead of a clunky, half movie about batmans genesis.

I am gonna wait and see about Leto's Joker. I used to hate ledger, and seeing a disheveled Joker seemed wrong to me... Dude was always well put together and dressed to the nines in the comics.
But Nolans style worked for me as well. Ledger killed it in that flick.

....As for Bizzarro- no fucking way. I dont think I could stand that.

Regarding batman vs. superman cheapening doomsday... I dont see it that way. Batman will meticulously plan every second of his attack on superman. use every weapon at his disposal. Brain vs. Brawn. Skill vs. power... And no matter what Batman chucks at superman, Superman will likely never kill a human, no matter how badly he is whooped.

Doomsday is equal power to superman, maybe more- who knows? And will not have a problem laying waste to humans, nor killing anyone.
My guess is the main focus of wonder woman, batman and superman will be minimizing collateral damage first and foremost in the Doomsday battle.

... As for future villians- Luthor in his suit with kryptonite injections, Darksied, and Braniac are what I want to see.

Deadpool did a great job blowing open the door for r-rated superhero movies... which is pretty damn awesome.

I'd rather not see Bizarro so much either, I just don't want DC to take Zod and find a way to mush him into Doomsday. I don't hate the idea of going against source material, but if they used Zod to create Doomsday it would seem like an idea born out of a lack of other ideas. I'd be fine with Zod's body being the key to kryptonite in some way or other I guess. We can conclude that that would make sense.

As far as Heath's look, that disheveled chaotic look fit the character. If we're to assume the same will be true for Leto, then we have to assume that his Joker will be a flamboyant street Joker. Comics Joker is flamboyant, sure, but in a totally different way. Leto may very well knock it of of the park but for the life of me I don't know what type of audience that new look caters to. Batman better have smashed his teeth out previously for him to have that fucking grill. And who was the only writer/artist to ever put tattoos on the Joker? Yep, Frank Miller.

There was an idea that Leto's Joker was really Jason Todd, beaten and brainwashed so badly to think he actually was the Joker. That's silly too but can you imagine that being the case only to have the real Joker unveiled at the end... Played by this guy...

I guess that's how much I hate The Joker's new look, that I wish it was a smokescreen. How bad would that **** up Batman though if Joker turned one of his Robin's in to a Joker clone lol. All those awful tattoos with the Joker imagery and the Haha's and the FOUR separate smile tattoos would almost make sense then. Almost.

At least that god awful 'damaged' forehead tattoo would carry some meaning.

There is a lot of things that point to Todd actually being the joker... the graffitti on the robin outfit matches the newspaper clipping Wayne got in the mail in the first trailer. Story about wayne tower getting toppled, written over it is "you let your family die"- works on 2 levels if todd is the joker and the joker is taunting batman.. Todd would know he is Wayne and know Wayne would be furious.
The shot of robins suit with "haha, the jokes on you batman" followed up with Wayne saying "20 years in gotham, how many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?" Could be Dent he is refering to, but I tend to think it is Todd/Joker.

Reason being is this- Looks like the robin suit is in the bat cave. the cases they always show in the comics and animated show. The costume looks to have bullet holes in the shoulders... and the metal fillings all over the Jokers teeth might be a result of Todd getting worked over by the joker with the crowbar.

Here is a Bat-shit crazy theory for you, and I guarantee it is not right. the Leto joker is the second joker... the heath ledger Joker also existed in this world. Leto followed Ledger because he is brainwashed and idolizes the Joker... had followed him for years.
How could Leto have followed Ledgers Joker for years?
Because Heath Ledgers Joker was Tyler Durden from Fight club. Jared Leto was one of the guys in fight club... his most notable scene was when Edward Norton beat the shit out of him in Lou's basement and shattered his teeth (which explains Leto's teeth in suicide squad- in no other incarnation has the joker had fillings like that).

So- Edward Norton, batshit crazy, Banishes Tyler Durden at the end of Fight club with a gun shot through his cheek. So, The Narrator gets caught. He left quite a trail, and someone walking around with a bullet wound in his face would attract attention even if he didn't seek medical attention.
Someone like that, who did what he did, would be tossed right in to an institution (arkham).
Someone that batshit crazy would also have no problem whatsoever fucking up the other side of his face to make it match.
He escapes the asylum, and goes on another rampage- recruiting people with the same magnetism he did before. It also explains why the joker can take an epic beatdown repeatedly and just keep laughing it off- tons of practice.
Leto, the old fight club member, realizes who the Joker is, and when Batman catches him, decides to continue the mission.

There. That is enough crazy for one day.

Ben Afflecks Batman may turn out to be good...but I just can't get over this Superman. I thought Man of Steel sucked and I think the guy playing him is a bad actor.

Someone to some extent must have agreed with me because, by the looks of it, they took a sequel to the man of steel and made it batman centric. On top of that, they put in wayyyyyyyy to many characters.
