Ben Afflecks Batman may turn out to be good...but I just can't get over this Superman. I thought Man of Steel sucked and I think the guy playing him is a bad actor.

Someone to some extent must have agreed with me because, by the looks of it, they took a sequel to the man of steel and made it batman centric. On top of that, they put in wayyyyyyyy to many characters.

Batman has just proven to make so much money, it's much safer. That's why DC/Warner went with Affleck/Batman how Marvel went with RDJ/Iron Man.

Marvel showed that putting a crap ton of characters can work if it is done efficiently- the avengers and X-men did an outstanding job at that.

I am not seeing it as a shift to batman-centric (although i sure as hell dont mind if it is)... But the ultimate goal is a justice league franchise. They are easing in to it with wonder woman, batman, superman and likely an end of film cameo of Aqua man.
Batman finances, builds, and for the most part plans everything for the justice league (unless the Martian Manhunter is included- then he is the dispatch/tactician).

All in all, it seems Green lantern (jordon or stewart still unknown), Cyborg, and the flash will round out the league.
They all have stand alone movies coming, the green lantern being the last currently planned in 2020... unless things have changed.

I am completely on board with the way it is rolling out- for the most part I thought every last one of the standalone Avenger member movies from marvel were weak at best and downright horrible on a couple (with the exception of winter soldier.. pretty badass)... But the 2 avengers movies were outstanding.
To me, (because I am ultra biased) Man of steel whips the shit out of any thor or iron man movie, with the only close competition being winter soldier.

Yeah- it was. And in all honesty, I never was a big Captain america fan overall... but the movie was well done, the story was really good, and it did a great job of bridging avengers and ultron.

Simmons is a pretty interesting choice- I like him a lot. I think of him as more dry comedy than anything else though... I hope they play him straight and not humerous.

I think he did the voice of one of the Cadmus generals in the justice league unlimited cartoon... funny to see him play a character in a movie.

I'm sure he'll be serious, if you haven't seen him in Whiplash you should check that out ASAP.

I am a fan of both DC and Marvel. They both bring different flares giving them good contrast. I'm more than willing to give this movie a chance after seeing Affleck's performance in Argo. Also a fan of Z.Snyder's work - especially Watchmen, which was an excellent movie in spite of all the bitching by so-called purist fanboys and yes, even Alan Moore.

Sure Man of Steel wasn't epic, but it sure wasn't bad either. Also excited for Suicide Squad as well.

Well, the reviews are in. The movie is garbage. They gave the car keys to the wrong driver on this one.

Do they just continue on like this or scrap
The whole deal?

Hopefully they learn from their mistakes.
I am excited to see the movie, And Eberts review says affleck is a surprisingly good batman.... but it also says the plot points and storytelling is hamfisted and painfully obvious.
That happens to be a pet peeve of mine, the director treating audiences like they are stupid. hopefully there are little easter eggs for the DC fans to keep us occupied and kind of satisfied.

The whole movie is apparently a bunch of heroes blabbering about what their existence means to the fate of the world while almost nothing happens in said world, in the entire movie. Reviews are obviously just critic opinions but I keep seeing over and over in reviews that the movie is no fun whatsoever.

One reviewer said that "Batman kills without pause." What a gross misinterpretation of a character. I guess his whole foundation of 'no killing' wasn't important enough to keep. I have tickets to see it Friday morning and if Batman snaps some street thugs neck I'm walking out of the theater.

I guess we live in a world now where The Batman is a careless killer and The Joker is common street trash. I can't wrap my head around how these decisions were allowed.

I am 100% on board with the bolded- I hope that the reviewer was just stupid and inattentive.

The entire draw of batman would be crushed if Batman killed- The joker would be long dead if that was the case.

Dammit- If he intentionally kills, I am out.

Lol, The Joker has been literally trying to get Batman to kill him for almost 80 years. SMH. This all goes back to Frank Miller for me, whoever thought his material was worth adapting is to blame.

I loved Millers Dark Knight returns for what it was- a one shot what if.

It's not at all terrible, I haven't read it in 10+ years and I actually enjoyed the two part animated version quite a bit. Regardless there are countless other Batman writers who could have been tapped for this movie's version. And Geoff Johns was supposed to be a consultant on this mess, I wonder if he was just totally overruled or what the hell happened.

Superman may be the most poorly conceived superhero ever. "What powers should we give him?" "All of them." "Any weaknesses?" "Yeah, if the sun should cease to exist or if someone can find a mineral that only existed on his home world, which happens to have exploded, he will get weaker." "Sweet, sounds like a plan."

And Batman is a spoiled, rich brat who lives alone with another man. He likes playing with toys and is way too much in leather.

I'm excited for this movie as it's the start of a new wave of other movies/characters. I've never really been invested in comics or these types of characters except for Superman and Batman (smaller extent). But now that my boys are here, it seems like a perfect time to bust out Superman 1, 2, and 3. Maybe I'll skip Nuclear Man, lol. Can't wait for S vs B.

This movie sounds terrible. And how in the **** can batman beat up any superhero(even Robin). Batman is just any other guy with gadgets, **** him, and his gadgets. I would laser his hands and feet off if I were Superman.
