Well, thanks to the weather we are heading out Vancouver to two days earlier than expected by leaving early tomorrow morning. We will be there for Friday night's game, but our road record is not so hot so far this season (2-4
<
). Good thing that Vancouver is a nice town though I am worried about the non asian gays there....

Just stay away from certain parts of Vancouver and you should be fine... Oh wait...

You know you could always stay in Seattle for a week.

We will be leaving for PHX next Tues. Good thing it was not this week, air travel is really messed up right now.

They should just rename Seattle and Vancouver "China Town".

I will be checking out those two places in Aug.

My friend and I are riding our bikes out there.

Hey, is anyone from the Chicago area going to Nashville for the game vs. the Preds on the 24th? If not, any tips on the cheapest/bestest way to get there, where to stay, etc?

The problem with Nashville is the airport... Its out in the middle of BFE and the taxis are about the same rate as going to Midway or O'Hare. And for the record, no bus or train service currently serves the Nashville Airport.

As for airlines, I'd fly out of Midway on Southwest, since they fly direct there at times. American gave me problems out of Nashville with delays to the core to the point where I almost had to call off work the next day.

As for the hotels, they're all pricey by the Bridgestone, so I can't really give you a really good one. The Hilton, Renaissance, and Courtyard are all within walking distance, however.

Transit there in Nashville is not the best. I'd honestly say that Bridgestone Arena one of the worst venues to get to in the NHL. I'm actually grateful I had representatives from the arena take me around the city, LOL.

As a result, expect to pay taxi rates everywhere there, but the city is definitely worth to visit at least once.

Screw all that noise. Take the 7 hour drive and have your vehicle for transportation while you are there. By the time you get to the airport early, wait while your flight is delayed, land, take a taxi and get to your hotel, you could have already been there, with less expense.

I quick dip into the frozen waters for the Polar Plunge this a.m. and then onward to O'Hare for a flight to Florida. I plan on witnessing first hand their 9th in a row!

Good trip tip except that the game was over a week ago.

Just a general tip for any destination within a 7 hour drive. Had to fly from JAX to Tampa a couple weeks ago for work. A flight that should take 45 mins took me 11 hours from the time I left my house to the time I checked into my hotel.

I was just kidding, I checked the plane, train and bus options and they all were more expensive and didn't seem worth the time and hassle compared to driving and that was before factoring getting a rental car.

I just try to give the options also to those who don't know how/don't want to drive. It's what I do best.

Actually looks cloudy, I dunno about South Florida but that's rare on the west coast of Fla. Also it has been cold in the mornings all year, heat in the morning, AC in the afternoon

looks like a retirement condo. Someone should tell the lady reading the book in white...she should not be wearing that in public.
