2010/2011 Road Trip(s)

Just committed to the Minny Game on 10/30. Visiting family up dere



Still considering Toronto. However, I think the wife committed us to Vancouver in February (she wants to see more of the area), which might throw a wrench into Toronto plans.

I thought about Vancouver, but the flights are double those to Toronto.

We are doing it based on miles. 15k miles plus $105 each gets us round trip on United. Heck buying miles is cheaper than the tickets!





Toronto is still in the picture, but it sounds like we are going to drive there.

Looks like agenthehe and I are in for the Rangers on 11/1. Only thing up in the air at this point is hotel and trying to find something in Manhattan for less than $3800 per night.

Going with a group from Edison Park to the game Oct. 30th in Mn. against the Wild. Have no idea where we are sitting? They're supposed to be good seats. Plus will probably do Detroit again. I like the casinos downtown there.

For the Minny game we are in C5. I will be the dork in the red Toews, and my short wife will be in a red Sharp jersey. She has never been to the Xcel, so look for us wandering around.

Gotta do that one sometime. The 2 places I've never heard anything bad about are Minny and Nashville (and I'll vouch for Nashville).

Yea I cannot say enough about the Xcel and the general fans that go to the games. Good thing my mom lives near by as it makes the trip that much cheaper.

Excel is a beautiful rink. I think that was the best part of the weekend. Plus the shirts and stuff in their store was affordable. I bought 4 t-shirts, a hat and a sweat jacket for under a $150. We stayed at the St. Paul hotel, which for a $140 a night was well worth it. A hotel like that in Chicago would cost you $300 a night. The Hawks stayed there too, so there were various sightings all weekend. Eddie O on the eliptical etc... The only thing that I didn't like (since I'm not a huge drinker) is the bar scene in St. Paul. The food was good, but there was nothing to do but drink there. Minneapolis offers a bit more. The woman who organized the trip is from Minnesota, and she knows Tom Reid (the Wild's radio announcer who played for the Hawks and the North Stars) we hung around at his bar, which was nice. He was there the whole night, so that was cool. all in all a great trip. I like Detoilet a little better for the casinos. But Minnesota and their people are awesome, except for the two idiots that jumped a husband and wife in our group after the game.

Just bought our Rose Bowl tix and it appears the Hawks play the Ducks/Kings on Jan 2/3...couldn't work out better!

From what I'm looking at, it will be TCU/Wisconsin more than likely... it shouldn't be hard to find a hotel, since it will be likely that only Wisconsin will bring in any business.... If you need some help with some close to Staples Center, or if you prefer to be around Pasadena instead, I can give a few suggestions out.
