Just for the sake of logistics and timing (and the fact it's a holiday for some), I'm planning Feb. 21 to St Loo (1 p.m. start). I can drive in, attend the game and drive home. If anyone else is considering that, let's work on getting a block of tickets. I know many here don't like afternoon starts, but it's workable for some of us. Blues Web site lists this as a "platinum" game meaning they charge the highest ticket prices.

I'll be stuck in Toledo for about a year with my new job, so any uncool people who are interested in attending a road BJs (except for 10/15/10) or a road Wings game, let me know.

I would think that with the many opportunities we get each year, Columbus shouldn't be an issue. The only issue I see with Columbus is the fact the East games are far more rare and more fun to be a part of.

Prepping for that kind of trip would make my host in Columbus happy as I haven't seen her in almost 10 years. Unless she asked that I stay in a hotel (she does have a bf, lol), I don't mind crashing at her house... and God I hope theres a bus service that goes to the airport... I'd still have to do the research accordingly. Tickets shouldn't be expensive, and I know airfare isn't expensive. Win-Win for me there.

Columbus essentially was on my list of ideas to visit this year, but its in the Top 5 for me. Frankly, anywhere BUT St Louis I don't mind.

Airfare there is really cheap. We have our plane tix for there, but this weekend after numerous Landsharks at the Buffett concert, there seemed to be some strong sentiment to changing the Columbus trip to Minnesota, so we may be changing. Everybody who did the Minnesota trip last year seemed to like it. We'll see.

My Top 10 on the list are:

1) Toronto

2) Atlanta

3) New York

4) Boston

5) Washington

6) Columbus

7) Minnesota

8) San Jose

9) Dallas

10) Buffalo

To make it more towards reasonability/accessability, my top 5:

1) Atlanta

2) Washington

3) Columbus

4) Minnesota

5) Dallas

New York is in November, so that may likely be near to impossible to try, especially since its too much near Atlanta's date. I definitely want to go east, though, this year, nevertheless. I've never been to the east coast ever, so it is something I actually want to be able to do.

However, if things go my way, I may end up in Philly for a couple days, so I might actually see the Flyers play while I'm out there... will be interesting if I wore Hawks colors out there, LOL.

As for Columbus, you know my reasoning there... Washington in March looks attractive, that's for sure. Minnesota is always a nice cheap option as well.

As for Dallas, I'm going to wait til the Orange Line to Love Field actually opens before I go there.
Florida/Tampa looks like where I'm going in 2011. The tix are nicely priced, and it's a nice back to back.
Looks highly likely that I will be in Miami for the Panthers/Hawks game.

you will want to fly in to Ft Lauderdale, since that's where the rink is. flights from chicago are also cheaper flying in to FLL rather than MIA

And its also in the middle of nowhere, by the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Fort Lauderdale. Sure, busses can get there, as it is a major terminus point, but the last bus leaving the arena to go back downtown is 11pm during the week... Earlier on the weekends. -.- Talk about ridiculous. I'd have to taxi it from out there. Hopefully, if I got a hotel, they'd be willing to pick me up via shuttle service if I ever did that.

And Fanof19 is right. It is cheaper flying to/from FLL via Southwest from Midway than via anything to/from Miami.... Not to mention, the Miami airport is way the hell out there.

At least I figured out how to get around for potential times in Tampa if I thought of it and I've been thinking about Tampa on there as well... surprising I never put it on the list... And there's a decent set of hotels nearby too....

I'll be staying with friends in the Miami area on a planned trip, it just so happens that the Hawks are in town, so...

Just did the research on Columbus... Looks like I'll ONLY go there if I can stay at my friend's place. There's literally NO decent bus or hotel shuttle service (without paying for a $30 one-way taxi ride) to the airport that I could see and that is a huge problem. :? Talk about an interesting change in events there....
