Could be a good reason to take the Empire Builder trip. Could take that out to Seattle and go to Vancouver and then fly back from Seattle. The Empire Builder is supposed to be a beautiful train ride.
The wife is still angry at Amtrak for our first trip to St. Louis, so that may be a hard sell. I do want to take that trip though. I wouldn't mind that at all.

Then I would finally get to meet TCD.
One disappointing part of the new schedule is that there's no Saturday games in St. Louis this year so no St. Louis road trip (Unless everyone wants to do the Friday game).

Other choices

Saturday Oct 30 vs Wild

Saturday Nov 13 vs. Preds

Saturday Jan 15 vs. Preds

Saturday Jan 22 vs Wings

We probably wouldn't be able to do a group on this one but I really want to make it out to Toronto for the Saturday Mar 5th game. If I can get a group of tickets for this one would anyone else be interested?

My choices right now are Jan 15 vs Preds or March 5 vs Maple Leafs.

Everyone let me know your thoughts and I'll work on getting a group package together.
Wife and I would been keen on any you have listed (Minny being 1st choice and we may just do anyway), along with the Leafs game.

Soon as I saw the schedule first thing i thought was road trip to Toronto. Will include a trip to the Hall of Fame to see the stuff from the 2010 playoffs including the Holy Grail. Maybe Kane's game winning puck will be there?

A friend & I are thinking about heading to St Louis for the Dec 28th game.

It's perfect for us because we'll both be on winter break.

This.
I think Columbus is aboot a 6 hour drive
Not for me....it's about 8 hours...and no way I'll make that. I'd MUCH rather go to the St. Louis game on Dec. 28 or Feb. 21 (preferably Feb. 21).

I believe every Maple Leaf game 'till the end of time is sold out, so tickets would be expensive via the secondary market.

Nashville would be easier and WAY cheaper.
I've already been to Nashville, plus, its not transit friendly. I'd rather not do that again without a ride.

But you do make a point about Toronto, though.... Very good point.
you could always do spring break in Florida and catch the Panthers/Hawks game. Fun in the sun and hockey in flip flops
Also requires a car... -.-
If anyone wants to go to the Atlanta game on 11/6 I'll be there and I can show you a great place to watch the games at Philips Arena.
Now this option I'd consider. Transit is good there and flights are cheap. Isn't November a tad early, though?
I've seen HNIC games in T.O. before, but never with the Hawks on the ice. Would love to do that and might have a realistic shot of making that one -- the Mrs. and I could drop the 16-week old off at grandma and grandpa's on the way to Tronna.
You did say 16 week old - right?????? Telling us something?

Well, a trip to Atlanta just got more appealing.

Florida/Tampa looks like where I'm going in 2011. The tix are nicely priced, and it's a nice back to back.

i'd love to do the wild game on the 30th, and naturally i'll be doing at least one nashville game. as for transit in nash, wolf... there are taxis. what more do you need? stadium is in the middle of everything downtown. you'd only need to worry about shuttle from airport to hotel, and a lot of hotels offer those free.

The airport is also around 15-20 mins away from Downtown. Its around $30, not including tip, from what I've been told.

I'm also the type that goes to budget hotels and not fancy ones because of financial reasons. Likely I won't be staying downtown. ;)
