I didn't like their 2nd Rnd pick at all. Seems like too much of a boom or bust type.
Right now yes but he is only 18 turing 19, And could mature and change to be way better. Just give him time.
Obviously but I'd prefer to take someone who wasn't so raw this high up in the draft, especially after an underwhelming pick in the 1st round.
Yeah but Wilken has done great for years so I w9n't doubt him yet. But Maybe Gibbs will trun out to be great like Keith Law thinks he could be.
Give them a chance boys.
If this is the case then why not just draft anybody and go with this philosophy?
:lmao:
Not really what any of us are getting at here.
I don't think anyone here is crapping all over the Cubs draft. Just saying it's less than inspiring.
I think we'll see Simpson dominate every level of the minor leagues over the next couple of years then head to the big club to start the type of career Randy Wells hinted at last season. A hunch helped by this article on him from last year. And his stats this past season were just as good or better.

Given that the Cubs count pitching as a strength in the minor leagues and bats not so much you know Wilken must have seen something really special in Simpson. Especially when a player like Zack Cox was still available and chances are good that all 3 Cubs infield spots except SS will be there for the taking over the next year or two. I bet you could hear people in the Cardinals draft room laughing when they selected that kid.
...and who's not giving them a chance?I agree for some of it. Id like to let the youngins have a chance though.
Who did that?C'mon guys...left the kids pan out before we write their careers down...
Harvey was the only sure bet in this draft...
