Unless a team is really willing to pay for a guy, the OF is going to be the oldest part of this roster. And even if Atlanta did give up something of value for Byrd and he was moved, I would guess that Jackson would remain in AAA while some combination of Johnson, Sappelt, Mather and Campana patrolled center.

Yup. Smart money says they wait for teams to get desperate which will coincidentally be just after the cutoff for Brett Jackson's extra year of control.

What about Joe Savery for Blake DeWitt or Jeff Baker?

The Phills are searing for a IF and the Cubs wan 'pen help. The Cubs will also add another lefty with Russell to their bullpen.

Baker may make more sense since he's on the 40-man, but they can make DeWitt happen too.

The Cubs can then make room but adding Amezaga or Gonzales to their bench. The bench may be weaker, but could strengthen their 'pen.
