What makes this so much fun is the fact that it means so much to them. I mean the Canucks is all they have unless you want to count Canadien Football.....but thats like us counting the Rush. They were suicidal on the Canuck message board. They actually were praying in their posts....Our Father etc. Plus offering to donate money to Vancouver charities if their beloved nucks would comeback and win. There were also tons of references to 7 game series against the Hawks. I almost felt sorry for them.....almost.

You mean can read the CBMB?...that MB strained my eyes after 10 minutes. All the fonts/colors and small print...lol.
Interesting comment I just read from a Canuck fan on their MB:
"Not sure what was more embarrassing. The lack of nuts on our team or our fans cheering on national TV when our goalie gets pulled. Pathetic. Its no wonder everyone hates canuck fans."

Sorry to say, they pulled down the best thread on the board. It was the in-game thread where everyone posts as the game is being played. I didnt see the thread from the 8-1 drubbing but read pretty much the whole thread on last night's 4-0 classic.....the crying, bitching and moaning there was epic.

I think it would be wrong to confuse the Vancouver Canucks with being "the Great White North's Great Hope"... I got the sense that actual Canadian hockey fans are much more nostalgic than that- and well- when you think of a guy like Orr, I think a typical Ontarian is going to think local boy from Parry Sound, not "oh please let the Sedin twins win one for the Maple Leaf"... in fact, I get the idea there are still guys running around north of the border that probably think that you need to don a suit and tie to attend a hockey game (and are not one of the scratched players)... which is how hard core some of them seem to get (based upon not all that close observation.).
I've read Canuck fan posts in years prior- they always read a lot like posts by the 5 rabid Kansas City Royals fans that thought that "winning" the 1985 World Series somehow meant that despite the (at the time) going through 5 consecutive 100 plus losses seasons -still made them better than the Cubs....
in point of fact, it didn't as even the Cubs had never been that futile -- actually no team in MLB history had had 5 consecutive 100+ loss seasons -ever.
-Bringing it back to Vancouver... my observation over time, of some of the more rabid posters I had seen in various places...
-some of themdon't appear to realise that their team has only ever actually made it to the Stanley Cup Finals -but never won.... ever.
Which basically means some folks' cockiness was completely lost on me.

Loved this play. Marchand flips him and has his gloves off immediately. Dude knows what he's doing.
Also, I loved how Eddie was calling it such a bad, dangerous play yet he had no issue with Hamhuis doing something very similar in game 1.
