How does this work? Can we agree to terms with Parise and Suter and be her the cap and then trade away players at a later date to get under the cap as long as its before the season?

I think there is a 10% teams can go over the cap during the offseason. That would make that cap = 77.3...but would have to be back down under the cap by...well, whenever the hell the new CBA states as well as the new cap number, upon negotiation completion.

Ahh. So if we do land Parise or Suter or both we have time to unload cap space.

I'd rather have Suter, but if we can have both, then great... I still doubt it until the dominoes fall though.

Sounded like we were gonna trade Hammer anyway for him, so why not just clear a little more room and try to squeeze in Parise? Worth a try.

I forgive you, but don't let me see you do it again.

Do you think I even know what I am talking about? I sure don't.

That's been the status quo for a long time with you.

Carey Price gets 6 year extension, probably kills Kane-for-Price rumors

I respect Parise a lot for taking this long to make his decision. He's actually weighing the options and thinking about how it affects the other people in his life.

And no matter what some idiots on twitter or on here say, he's a smart guy for doing that. I think he'll stay in NJ, but if he goes somewhere else it's because that's what he thinks is best for his family. Not just himself.

That's why I think some people on twitter comparing him to LeBron making his decision is totally wrong. Zach seems like a great guy and deserves respect for that.

According to Parise's agent, Wade Arnott, a decision might still be announced tonight. If not, then tomorrow.

According to this the Blackhawks are among the teams offering 12-13 for over 100 million. If true, that offer is more than a PR move.
