If you're gonna move Bolland, it only makes sense if you're adding a 2C. Trading Bolland for anything else leaves the Hawks even weaker at an already weak center position.

I also liked his part about letting some of the kids fill the holes in the Hawks lineup this year. Time to see what some of those guys can do. Since it doesn't appear that trade or free agency is going to fill those holes, let the farm system do it.

Thanks! And I agree with you on getting a 2C before even considering trading Bolland.

It's apparent that there are people on here that "get it" and others that are delusional and bitter with no concept of how a sports organization is ran.

As like most of the fans out there, I am not a fan of BOWMAN......haven't seen him do much to improve the franchise yet, for me, the jury is still out, but the deliberation and verdict may be in sooner than later!

PS - Does anyone know who in the f**k Serious is talking to?!?!

And why does that matter?

because you never can form your own opinions. you rely on hawkposter to give you an ansewer that will reassure you that all will be ok. you rarely have a thought, and when you do and hawkposter says the opposite you drop down to your knees. have your own thoughts for once please.

I don't know what holes these kids are going to fill in. Not counting Shaw a kid in this situation since he proved himself pretty well last year but of course that can change this year. There really aren't any depth holes that the kids can fill, either because they aren't open or because there isn't a prospect that fits in that spot. Talk of Saad at 2C scares the shit out of me...the guy has been playing wing and now he is going to make the jump to the NHL at 2C? Hopefully it is talk and nothing more than that.

McNeill. But I think the fact of including young guys is more about next year than this year. At least that's what I comprehended. If so, I'm fine with trying McNeill as the 2C after a year in Rockford.

I'd agree with trading Bolland for a 2C. I'm alright with Kruger as 3C as long as there is a capable 2C. But I'd also like to see some better players on the third line. Frolik I'm fine with because he's good defensively, but Bickell is so streaky.

This has made my day.

Regarding Bowman, he's probably not on the chopping block just now. By allowing Q to hire two of "his guys" to be assistant coaches, the entire weight of the organization is on his shoulders. A bad start or another 9-game losing skid could be the end of Q's tenure in Chicago. Not long after that, though, Bowman's head will be next. Unless they start winning playoff series(es?) again.

Danault and McNeill should both get chances to play a top 6 center role this year with the Hogs (Pirri will both be in there way unless traded though). Should be interesting to see how the both of them do.

One day I hope regular season Bickell and Frolik can meet up with playoff Bickell and Frolik so that they can work something out. Two totally different players in the last 2 postseasons/regular seasons.

Yeah. I think both of them have a good chance to be the 2C for the Hawks in the 2013-2014 season.

Danault is more of a defensive guy. 3C for him.

Hell, even if Bickell got back to his regular season form of a couple years ago that would be great. I think we all look at his size though and just wish there was more. Apparently playing his size has never been part of his game though. A little bit more snarl would go a long way in my opinion.

I think Frolik is an underrated player in an odd way. He does a lot of the little things right, unfortunately he isn't going to make many fans by not scoring and by getting rewarded a high contract. Frolik was a 20 goal scorer not too long ago but it may have been because he was given the opportunity to do so on a poor team. He is a good skater, good passer, takes a hit to make a play, and is good on the boards. Unfortunately, he has such a weak and terrible shot. It isn't heavy one bit and he doesn't have a quick release. Definitely another player that the Blackhawks would love more out of.

What I meant with my post is that I think there are 4 slots that are not 100%. If everyone comes back healthy, here is the projected depth chart from the HAWKS website:

Toews - Sharp - Stalberg
Kane - Hossa - Carcillo
Bolland - Bickell - Shaw
Krueger - Mayers - Frolik
Bollig, Hayes

The jury will be out on Bickell, Shaw, Hayes & Frolik this pre-season. So, some of the other names I mentioned, could take over these slots (especially Bickell and Frolik's). The list that I mentioned are not just for this year but, obviously, for the future. If some of these kids have a great camp, it's going to be a tough decision from the coaching staff on who to keep and who to send down or cut?!?

Defense -
Seabs - Keith
Leddy - Oduya
Hjarms - Brookbank
Olsen

I double posted some how.

In terms of Danault being a 3C because he is more defensive, I wouldn't say he is more defensively inclined (he does have a very nice offensive game) but that he is just better defensively. Obviously he already has an award from juniors that says how solid he is defensively. A young player being defensively responsible is definitely exciting.

I could see him as a 2C, but really I love the idea of McNeill as the 2C. Top 6 center and was pretty good in training camp and prospect camp last year.

I think the lineup that you listed is pretty close to what we will see come opening night (unless acquisitions or more signings are made).

I don't see Hayes making it because he really has to work on his foot speed and stability. With his size though he is another nice prospect to have and played well when he was up with Chicago.

I think Montador will be the 6/7 dman and not Olsen. Olsen is another guy that needs to get some top minutes and work on his foot speed.

Foot speed always seems to be the biggest issues for why a player can or cannot make the jump. It is one of Beach's issues and it is one of the reasons why Shaw was definitely able to hang in the NHL.

That's if he's healthy from concussion. But I guess hawksfan included Hossa in his lineup too. Both are question marks.

I think this is more what it might look like:

Sharp/Toews/Stalberg
Saad/Kane/Carcillo
Bickell/Bolland/Frolik
Kruger or Smith or whoever/Mayers/Shaw

That's what I was thinking when I saw that on the HAWKS website. But, we all know that's probs not going to be the actual lines come Opening Day......at least, I hope not!
