So if there's a season-long lockout can both of them be banned?

But don't let Dews be banned during baseball season. Need someone other than me to keep Joe from being a fucking dumbass.

Interesting takes from everyone! I've only been a member for 2 days and I was warned about people in the Hawks forum who didn't know what they were talking about.

I'll say this, so far, I've read a lot more knowledgable stuff from you guys than I have on ESPN/CHICAGO, CSNCHICAGO and other Chicago Sport forums! That's for sure!

Everyone has their own opinion on things...........just glad to see that MOST of it is being backed up with facts and not just people throwing shit at the fan!

I've been a Hawks fan for 35 years....Hockey is my religion! LOVE THAT F'in SPORT! LOVE MY HAWKS!

I think that there were a few guys out there to get for this year and they signed elsewhere......with that in mind, Bowman would be smart to save the $$ and cap space room for next year. We have some kids with talent that could fill in the gaps until then (Shaw, Hayes, Bollig, Pirri, Beach, Morin, Olecz, Makarov, B.Smith, LaLonde, Olsen). Beach needs to COMPLETELY step up his game! His stock has fallen the last few years due to laziness and dumb decisions!

Trading Bolland would NOT be a smart move! He's our best defensive offensive player and a Center! Hammers needs to go, but since we overpaid him 2 years ago, his contract is going to be hard to deal, especially after the year he had in 2011-2012!

Crawford will be just fine! Chill the puck out! Last year was his first full season as an NHL starter! Sure, he gave up soft goals, but he also kept us in a ton of games and we all saw how good this guy can be! With another year under his belt, and with a better defense in front of him (we hope), you will see him get better! Too many "FANS" are wanting Craw-daddy sacrificed and given the death penalty.........i laugh at these people because they obviously are not TRUE fans of the game.....they are newer fans to sports who got soo spoiled with 2010's team that they are NOT willing to be patient. I call them hockey brats! They think we can just go out and buy ourselves another championship, like the Yankees try and do! There is financial strategies that come into play with players and you also need to find the best player that fits the mold of your team.....some guys are assholes in the locker room and are not the type of guys that you want on your team (cancers).....Some are puck hogs and play selfishly......there are many factors that go into signing the right players for your team!

Getting back to Craw-daddy, would you rather have Huet in net?!?! Luongo is NOT the answer......or maybe he is, but I would not give up Bolland or any of our minor league talent for him.......if the Hawks want to depart with Hammer and Bickell.....I'd do it! Maybe?!?

I'm going to see what happens this year before I jump on that "we need a new goalie" bandwagon! 1 season does not make a career!

Exactly what I've been saying. The couple good UFAs this year have gone to other places and not without the Hawks trying. The UFAs will be better next year and I'd rather have the Hawks get a good player than overpay for an average player who will do good, but not great things.

About Bolland, I agree on some parts. He's really good and pretty good offensively (streaky), but not the best center. That would be Toews. But Bolland is pretty underrated as the 3C. He's good there. The problem is that he's with two guys who can't play offense for shit. But Frolik is one of the better defensive forwards on the team.

Definitely! By no means was I stating that Bolland is our best center, but I think he's our best Defensive center. Yes, I think he is slightly better, defensively, than Toews, but obviously, not all around better! His line always gets matched up against the other teams top lines and they get the job done, for the most part.....plus, he can score and gets under peoples skin!

The only thing I will disagree with in this post (nicely said overall) is the Hjalmarsson part. Taking a look at what Defenseman are making on the market today makes me think that Hammer would not be very difficult to trade.

The one real good thing Stan has done is lock up the core long term before the cap took off and so did player salaries. After that, several arguments can be made for the job he has done. I don't consider Hammer a part of the core but his cap hit really isn't that bad.

Dews is so angry already and already talking out of his ass and using his childish 30+ yr old tactics.

It is a simple bet made at this time. Dews believe that all three of the Blues, Preds, and Wings will place higher in the regular season than the Blackhawks. I see no way that all three of those teams have more points than the Blackhawks by the end of the regular season. If all three do, I get a life time ban. If the Blackhawks have more points than any, Dews gets a life time ban.

Let the Dews farewell tour begin. Not many tickets will be sold as few around here will miss him.

tactics bro. tactics.

If you're gonna move Bolland, it only makes sense if you're adding a 2C. Trading Bolland for anything else leaves the Hawks even weaker at an already weak center position.

I also liked his part about letting some of the kids fill the holes in the Hawks lineup this year. Time to see what some of those guys can do. Since it doesn't appear that trade or free agency is going to fill those holes, let the farm system do it.

I don't know what holes these kids are going to fill in. Not counting Shaw a kid in this situation since he proved himself pretty well last year but of course that can change this year. There really aren't any depth holes that the kids can fill, either because they aren't open or because there isn't a prospect that fits in that spot. Talk of Saad at 2C scares the shit out of me...the guy has been playing wing and now he is going to make the jump to the NHL at 2C? Hopefully it is talk and nothing more than that.

I know its only Jesse Rogers, but he wants Kruger at the 2C spot :puke:

Yea, I was never a fan of Kruger at the 2C position. He is a black hole when it comes to offense, more so than Bolland (who I think is even overrated offensively). Danault is an exciting prospect at center but he is still a prospect. Same could be said about McNeil, even though I like Danult's overall game (at this point) more so than McNeil. Saad at 2C just doesn't make sense to me as I can't see how it makes this team stronger up the middle.

I suppose there could be several 2C options this year for the Blackhawks, should be interesting to see who is slotted in that position when the time comes.
