Shawn Thornton gets 15 games for his incident against Brooks Orpik.
I actually think this fair.

Me... I still think it should ave been more. But as far as the complete random crapshoot of the suspensions, I think that's about all we could have hoped for. Also, I'm not saying he isn't knocked out cold or anything like that but I still don't see where the killing blow is from Thornton. It's strange to me I see all the events the pull/fall/punch all that but none of it looked like anything major. Crazy...

As impressive as his start has been right now the Caps are purely dependent on him. The team has no secondary scoring, it is tough when you have a guy who is already nearing 200 shots on the year, but at the same time Ovechkin is a -12.

He is clearly not the guy who needs to be boosting everybody else, but they need some more tools in Washington to seriously think about contenting again.

It really is incredible. 500k less than Toews and Kane, has only hit 20 goals twice before in his career, currently has a shooting percentage of nearly 20%, which is twice his career average and also which is hard for even fucking Steven Stamkos to sustain and/or repeat, and is going to be 30 years old this season. Fucking insane.

I wouldn't even say half year, and this just makes it worse. It was basically a 9 or 10 game period near the start of the season where he scored 10 goals on less than 30 shots, shooting damn near 40%. Since then it's dropped pretty consistently and he's been pretty much back to his career average scoring pace over the last couple weeks now.

Does anyone ever sell high on the trade market anymore? Or do they just buy high/re-sign high?

$5.8M is ridiculous for Alex Steen. 3rd liner having a career half-year.

This is music to my ears. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA.

If you would've told anyone, including Steen that he'd be getting upward of 3.5 million before this season he probably would have said GTFO. 5.8.....thats just brilliant.

The guy has never played a full season, has never broken 60 points or 24 goals and doesn't set the world on fire on the other end of the ice. St. Louis, who you crappin

Well he is a good defensive forward, but I'm not paying almost 6 million to a defense first winger that, other than that stretch of games he had, struggles to score. Don't care how much the cap is going up.
