While Ovechkin's goal scoring abilities can't be denied, I have a hard time believing he's as one-dimensional as he appears to be. The Caps are a dumpster fire with Oates being a moron and McPhee not knowing how to build a winner around two of the premier players in the league.</p>

Because he's not. People can rag on him being a shooter first or "greedy" or whatever, but the dude also averaged over 50 something assists per season his first 5 or 6 years in the league. He can be that great. </p>

And there is no comparison in Bossy's era vs. Ovechkin's. It's not even close which one is tougher to score in. It's nobody's fault what era they each played in, but it has to be taken into account.</p>
