I'm in agreement with Q. I dont like the way they played against the Wild. They were outplayed for a significant amount of time by an inferior opponent. I know it sounds crazy after winning a series 4-1, but it is fact. The Hawks won because Minnesota has had trouble scoring for weeks and had goalie injury issues as well.

There's good news and bad news here.

Good: Out of the trio of Sharks, Ducks and Kings...they'll only have to face two of them.

Bad: If they play like they did vs the Wild, they'll only be playing one of them.

Should be a great night of hockey with a couple of game sevens.

Would love a good upset with Toronto if they are able to pull it off. Odds are certainly against them but in a 1 game wins all, anything can happen.

Toronto up by a goal mid-way through the game. Love watching two original six teams going at it in a game 7. Should bode well for the NHL that atleast the Blackhawks and Red Wings have one last shot at eachother before the unfortunate (in my eyes atleast, though it makes sense) switch next year.

This is one of the strongest American-franchise post-seasons I can remember. Just one Canadian team left in the playoffs.

Sucks that the Leafs couldn't close the deal.

OV Said-“The refereeing... You understand it yourself. How can there be no penalties at all (on one team) during the playoffs?
“I am not saying there was a phone call from (the league), but someone just wanted Game 7. For the ratings. You know, the lockout, escrow, the League needs to make profit... I don't know whether the refs were predisposed against us or the League. But to not give obvious penalties (against the Capitals), while for us any little thing was immediately penalized...”

Hey OV, maybe blame yourself instead of watching your coach cry during his presser last night, perhaps?

I love NHL conspiracy theories.

Should be a heck of a series. I'm glad these two teams get another crack at each other before the Wings move east. I don't know about you guys, but this Wings fan is disappointed in the loss of this rivalry.

I picked the Wings to win this series in 7, but I'll be honest, a LOT of stuff is gonna have to go right for the Wings for that to happen. Howard's going to have to stand on his head, and Datsyuk and Zetterberg are going to have to carry the team at times with all the rookies on board. What can I say? I'm a bit of a homer...

Regardless of the outcome, good luck to you guys in the future. Hopefully we'll meet in the Finals soon.

OV excuses getting better and better;

@SWhyno
Source confirms Alex Ovechkin played Games 6 and 7 vs Rangers with broken foot, as @kcarrera reported. #Caps

Really? No noticeable limp, no air cast, nothing. Come on, OV was part of the steroid scandal from a couple years ago and hasn't been the same player since his supplier got pinched. Grow the **** up trying to make these preposterous excuses up for him now that he isn't superman any more. I saw he had 13 hits in game seven. I really doubt a guy with a broken foot is waiting to lay into somebody.....

The way the refs jobbed the Sharks tonight, I agree..... Wow... If I'm a Sharks fan, I just gave up on the NHL. That delay of game call was absolute bullshit, the puck went off Carter. I just wanted to see this series go 7, but it might go 4 after that call... Absolutely brutal. NHL refs are baaaaaaad, very bad. Bettman wants LA vs. Chicago badly.

It is kind of sad. I don't like San Jose and I don't fear the Kings, but as a 33 year old who played for 15 years, reffed for 4-5 years and am diehard, a part of me died watching this game tonight... It kind of feels like the NBA now. That was a very suspect and tainted win... Not good for the NHL at all.

Quick can always get hot, and they have the big body types that can give the Hawks trouble. So yeah, I definitely understand your concern.

I was more or less trying to say that I wasn't outright rooting for the Sharks, that from an unbiased view, the NHL bent the Sharks over and penetrated them hard last night. I probably should have just said that, haha... If the Hawks advance, the Kings or the Sharks would both be a challenge.

Like Franko said, Quick can get a hot streak going and he becomes almost unbeatable...they also have size (which always gives the Hawks trouble) and have the ability to score in bunches (although it has been slow at times this season)

That is just a bad mix for the Hawks. I hope the Sharks and Kings just beat the shit out of each other so whoever advances is exhausted when they meet the Hawks (assuming we advance ofcourse)

I prefer the Sharks, just because my brother-in-law lives out there and roots for them. Bragging rights and all.

You shouldn't. The Kings would have lost to the Hawks last year if they met up in the playoffs. The Kings have one uber elite defenseman in Doughty who likes to take shifts off now that he got paid. Everybody else the Hawks will just skate past. If Sutter plays his quasi trap he pretty much cripples the skill guys if their forecheck fails and that plays into the hands of the Hawks puck possession game. Quick was on god mode last year but didn't play a team with the fire power of the Hawks last year in the Playoffs outside of a one Sedin less Nucks, which means I could have put on the pads in a drunken haze while tripping my nuts off on liquid LSD and put up decent numbers when the other team didn't have players who could have shot the puck on net at a decent clip.

The funny thing is, you want Carbomb in there against the Kings, considering Brown and if he is cured Stoll like to take runs at star players. But even then, I don't see the Kings last five games with the Hawks.
