The Caps just keep piling it on;

After knocking the Caps out of the playoffs, Rangers Coach John Tortorella rubbed some salt in the wound.

“We’ve got everybody and their brother whining out there in Washington about what happened in that series,” Tortorella said on Wednesday. “And I think that’s a big reason they lose that series.”

On Thursday, Adam Oates was on with LaVar and Dukes on 106.7, and the pair asked the Caps coach to respond. (Audio here.)

“Well, I think he’s out of line,” he said. “He should be worrying about his own series. We didn’t whine once during the series. I never complained. Did you guys ever hear me complain about officiating?

“All [complaining] we did, after Game 7,” he continued. “No one complained before any game. I met with the supervisor before Game 7. You meet with the supervisor before every single game. We never complained about anything.”

Arrington then asked Oates if her could beat up Tortorella in a one-on-one situation.

“Yeah,” replied Oates, without hesitation. “Easily.”

This is more entertaining then the actual games. Please don't stop.

If theres any team that deserves it, its the Caps. OV and his sense of entitlement even when he is a shell of the player he once was, who cried for a coach who would allow him to ignore his own zone like Oates has done, is justifiable and good for Torts to twist the knife.

If OV was still supplementing steroids, this would be a non issue, the Caps would have won.

Sens got hosed by the refs.

They were looking one way and the acting by Crysby on the high stick just proves the point.

Good thing the Hawks have two of Bettmans favorites.

Torres is not appealing his suspension...but his genius GM is defending him and saying it was a bad suspension. This is the exact reason why guys like Torres keep getting a chance. There is no penalty to the team for having a guy like that on the roster. Him taking out a good player on another team is actually a benefit to the team he plays for. Idiot Shark fans commenting on that article are blaming Stoll.

The blame has been lifted off Luongo... Vigneault has finally been fired.

Luongo needs to get out of Vancouver so I can be a bigger fan of his.

Good question. From reading the Fan's forums, they all hate the guy.....but then again, they were hating about everyone after another quick exit. The team seems to be laying it all on Vigneault and for good reason. The had some pretty loaded teams and lost a shitload of home playoff games plus he's pretty much of an idiot anyway. Gillis surely wont be too far behind him if the Canucks stub their toe again next year.

That's a damn good question.

His trades and drafting have been horrible. I am still not sold on the Kassian/Hodgson swap, his other prospects have very minimal upside, the Roy trade was a waste, and his biggest trade chip, Lou, could have netted Bolland,Crawford, and a second round pick last summer.

AV was just a patsy, but he did also have stacked teams for the last few years and didn't accomplish a Cup with them.

God forbid, if the Hawks do indeed lose this series and Q gets fired, I wouldn't want AV as the HC but something tells me his experience at coddling his star players would put him at the top of the list.

I'm hoping for Boston but if Voukon keeps his pace up, I don't see them being able to keep up the pace offensively.

Kings win. Parody is lost.

The frozen 4 will be the last 4 or 5 cup winners

Can't wait for game 2 from the east tonight. I still think the Pens would be an easier opponent for a potential matchup with the Hawks, but I love how teams like Boston & Philly can get under Cindy's skin. Game one, he almost had a meltdown... I hope it actually happens in game two!!

I expect the Penguins to play a much better game. Definitely won't get shutout again. Was really impressed with the Bruins in game 1 though.

The thing I want most from this series is the two teams beating each other up before the SCF. In game 1, they did that. I hope it continues.
