I was 12 listening to the Hawks lose to Montreal in '73. (I got autographs from the Canadiens at the airport because I was too young to "hate" them.)

The first game I saw live, the Hawks lost to the Islanders NINE-zip!

I have watched, attended, listened through "Baaaannnnnerman!", Eddie the Eagle and others.

I recall Pat Foley calling Savard's twirling puck handling... "Savoir Faire is everywhere!"

Amonte, Chelios, Roenick....many good players over the years and some very good teams, then a long dry spell.

But THIS team....THIS team is SPECIAL.

Wire to wire. Best start ever to an NHL season, and arguably the best finish.

Wow!

The Hawks proved me wrong, by continuing to stick to their original game plan. If you noticed in games 2 & 3, when they tried to play like the Bruins, they lost. Fortunately, they went back to their style of play.

Chelios is the reason IM a blackhawks fan. For some reason I really liked him when I was only 8 years old. I had a NHL hockey video game and I had to be the blackhawks.
