I'm not a WAR guy, just thought this was interesting..

Dunn now has 3 of the 4 worst 40 Homer seasons in MLB History.

Year Player..............HR...WAR

2008 Adam Dunn.......40...0.9
1998 Jose Canseco....46...1.6
2006 Adam Dunn.......40...1.6
2012 Adam Dunn.......41...1.7
1977 Jeff Burroughs...41...1.7

  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
I'm pretty big into WAR, but I find it hard to believe that a guy who hit 41 bombs is just a 1.7 WAR.

HR or on base or a K

Basically it, no?

Not saying I wouldn't want Dunn on a playoff team. I would.

Yes, Dunn is/was the king of the "three true outcomes": home run, walk, strike out.

A 240/380/520 slash line with 40+ bombs. But then he came to the Sox and drank some of the water like Swisher, Keppinger, Erstad, etc all did, and now he's having a rough start.

Wait a moment. Not fair to put Kepp in there with the others. He was never a regular player, nor was he ever a star.

I want Santiago in the rotation. Axelrod blows against potent offense's.

So when Danks comes back you want 4 lefty starters?

Sale
Danks
Quintana
Santiago
w/ Peavy being the only righty

really dude.

Hello all,

I am new here. A refugee from the destruction of the CBS boards. Seems like a nice place.

I do have to agree with BigSoxHurt. Dunn is awful. He is not even walking anymore. This seems worse than 2011. It is a gigantic hole in the middle of the lineup that is impossible to hide. I was a big supporter of his when he came over here and cut him a break for 2011 (new team, new city, new league, new role) and he had a slight bounce back last year. This year is showing me that he is done (no pun intended). He has lost it and I do not think he can get it back.

Welcome Cesna98. We've been slow to start the year and the team hasn't been giving us more than what we had in the offseason to discuss, but hopefully things will turn around soon

Glad to have a new guy to discuss White Sox baseball with!

Glad to be here. I always enjoy a nice White Sox discussion

I do hate to see them waste a good starting staff and bullpen with horrible offensive production.

I mean we are a top 3 team as far as pitching goes. We have a 3.33 team era and a WHIP of 1.2. That is awesome

However we are almost dead last in nearly every offensive category only Seattle might be worse.

I am hoping that as the weather warms up the bats will also. Luckily no team in the AL Central has grabbed the reigns and started to run away yet. If we can get the bats going we are a dangerous team.

For a team that has been so successful at avoiding the injury bug for years, it all comes back to us at once it seems.
