Looking at the standings today, there would be some pretty interesting matchups if the playoffs started today.

Hawks meet Jets - who knows, but the Hawks ought to handle them
StL meets Preds - would probably be boring but brutal series
Ana meets Kings - repeat of last years epic battle
SJ meets Canucks - interesting pacific matchup

On the east
Habs meet Laffs - two hockey crazy canadian cities going at it
TBay meets Wangs - not much here
Pens meets Caps - the Crosby vs. Ovi thing all over again. Who meltdowns first Holtby or MAF?
Isles meets Rags - best team in new york up for grabs.

Jets trade Evander Kane, Zachary Bogosian, goalie prospect Jason Kasdorf to the Sabres for Myers, Stafford, prospects Joel Arima and Brendan Lemieux, and a 2015 1st round pick. The 1st rounder will be lowest of the 3 the Sabres have, thus keeping their 2015 pick for a chance at McDavid.

Dumb trade especially because Kane can't even play for them until next season.

Getting Bogosian is good for Buffalo, I didn't expect that part of the deal when the Kane/Myers talk was up... and Kane not playing for them until next year is a bonus to Buffalo since they're in it for the hope of getting that top lottery pick anyway.

But I don't know anything about Arima or Claude Lemieux's progeny to really say what Winnipeg will get in return. Their D is certainly large now; especially if they keep Buff on D
