I could see Almora. Soler? Not a chance.

I dont even know if you have to give up 2. Not a lot of teams will take on that kind of contract. I know it would have be a strong package, but I dont know about 2 of them. Almora I wouldnt mind trading though. I hope he gets his value up their where he can be a centerpiece type.

I don't think that at all. I believe the Cubs have depth in position prospects. McKenny, Jimenez, Hannerman. Almora etc. Edwards and Johnson

They have plenty of toss in with high upside to fill in around Baez

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
I wouldn't be interesting in trading Baez. I was merely entertaining Brett's post. The Cubs aren't going to trade Baez anyway. They put Manny at Iowa for a purpose.

If Shark pulls x Hamels pulls x+ I agree the plus is a debate

There are FA pitchers the Cubs can chase.

Why trade top prospects for a pitcher with a huge contract?

They have depth now, but why give up any prospects before you try FA? Besides, the article even mentions the Phils' asking price is too high for teams.

The reason is his contract is on the low end over the next 5 years. Just watch Lester and Schzer go for 25-30 mil per. 22.5 is a bargain

I'd rather give up 2.5 million a year than top prospects, plural.

And I guess I am just not sold on Hamel, as well.

Doubt they trade off any top prospects this off season....

They will start 2015 with Arrieta wood and Hendricks ( as long as he keeps having good starts ) in their rotation.

I see them addressing the other 2 spots via FA with Lester being their big fish..

Edwin Jackson will be moved but they will eat some money doing it

I think you misspelled "a ton" with "some"

They won't move Jackson. Moving him to the pen may give him value again. It has been long enough to figure that this is not a phase but a decline with him.

Better to relieve than cut

"CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Cubs have "rebuffed inquiries" from the Yankees and others for Justin Ruggiano.
Heyman says the Cubs plan to hang on to both Ruggiano and Chris Coghlan, as they value their bats next year more than the second-tier prospect that they'd receive in return."

Meanwhile, the versatile Emilio Bonifacio is now drawing interest.

Figured they were getting him in at 3B to show his flexibility. Sell high I say with him. He still doesn't take walks and that sucks as a long term lead off.

Whatever helps u cope

This right here is why others refer to you as a troll, asshole, etc. Hammel was bound to regress to the norm at some point. We made a solid trade what exactly is he coping with?
