Maybe 9-11 per year like I said in another thread

You're delusional if you think he would accept a lowball offer like that. That's at least 30-60% lower than what he'd get on the open market.

I would have preferred a 3-5 year contract but hey, #CuttyIsBack

i'd be surprised if it's that low, even considering the length...

would be great if thread title can get updated with $$ per year when the numbers get released

Do the math though. If it's 13-15 per for 7 years that's 91-105. I can't imagine that's the constructs of the contract.

Not surprised he was re-signed but 7 years? My jaw dropped. 3-4 years sounded much better.
I was thinking somewhere around four years myself.

I totally agree. Im sure after year 4 we can cut ties and not have much repercussions.

I really doubt he lasts 7 years. 3-4 at best.

This is good because years from now when the price of quarterbacks goes up even further Cutler is locked in.

I'm pretty sure it's back loaded and they will eventually get rid of him after 4 years if he doesn't pan out. So they don't lose much. So it turns out like a 4 year deal. It's just lengthy so they can get the first 4 years cheap against the cap.

backloading a big ass contract like that will just put us in the same shit situation we're in with Peppers' contract. i doubt / hope that's how it's constructed

Do the math though. If it's 13-15 per for 7 years that's 91-105. I can't imagine that's the constructs of the contract.

why not? that's what a second-tier QB is worth these days

I feel like that kid in the "is this real life?" video after he got his wisdom teeth pulled.

He will never play all 7 years it is just to spread the money out and not kill the cap.

Will be interesting to see the structure and if it's salary back loaded. I expect it to be but not necessarily to be cut like Peppers. By that time, if he plays well enough, he'll be worth the dough. If not, there's a way out. You could say the same about Peppers but I never thought he'd be worth his final 2 years.
