No, time for a dedicated bash Mashinter thread. It should be a sticky too.

Why wait until he's played even one NHL game?

Bickell and Versteeg both looked much better tonight then last year, their line played great too.

Bickell, besides being injured which slowed him down, was pretty good last year. Never had an issue with him.

Eager back then I would consider a viable option, he was at one point twice the player Bollig will ever be. Burish never. And both were barely played, like I already said.

Eager played enough to score the game winner in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Finals against Philadelphia (Hawks won 2-1).

...In a perfect world we'd have 4 Toews, 4 Kanes, 4 Hossas, 3 Keiths, 3 Seabrooks and 1 Crawford. With that lineup, I'd let Huet be the backup.

lol Eager only had speed and a heavy shot. So outside of speed, he was Bollig. At least Bollig could take a punch and give one without being an inch away from a hockey career.

My best memory of Eager is him making Bieksa spit out his gibbers.

I liked the way VanReimslesbian...sorry, don't have to be PC here...Vanreimsdyk looked out there last night. In a vacuum he should be slotted in 5/6.

Bickell/Versteeg/Shaw look awesome together. We should be keeping this line.

I like the snarl Morin brings--he's like a Shaw-lite out there. Between him and Maschinter Morin should get the nod.

PP needs a lot of work, but at least it looks mobile onther than rooted like last year.

Rosival is done; time to put him out to pasture.

Do you waive Rosival and hope someone bites and if they don't send him home to Europe? Is anybody gonna trade for him at this point?

He only averaged something like 5 minutes a night, just like Burish. Though he was much better than Burish, back then anyway. That team was incredibly stacked, if it wasn't he'd have gotten more time.

I'm not asking for a superstar on every line, I'm just asking for effective lines, that's it. A guy like Bollig should never get the nod over a player like Morin, Handzus should've never been the second line center for as long as he was, Versteeg playing top 6 over someone like Saad ,etc, etc. They had the ability to do that, one year Q did and they won the Cup, the next year he didn't and they struggled to roll 4 lines and was one of the reasons why they came up short.

I'd hate to see Leddy leave because I think he's underrated but it seems most teams are going to want him and the Hawks don't have much time to negotiate. I would hope if Leddy goes we get a quality pick or prospect in return but again, I dont know how much the Hawks really have in negotiation power.

Rather than trade Leddy i would rather put Versteeg and Rosy thru waivers and send them down. Likely no claims and Rosy goes to Europe. If Steegs is really better it would show in Rockford and if Stan wants someone else could be moved to make room. Not sure of the penalty from sending them down though, if any.

My money is on Versteeg having a monster bounce back year. I agree on Leddy...hate to see him dealt.
