Will this site come to life when the season starts or will it stay as a ghost town with just a few crazies staying put?

I watched most of it on HockeyStreams though it was the house scoreboard feed and the picture was pretty murky. Edmonton dominated early. Like many young teams leading shots 10-3 early. Then, like many young teams, when they are re-buffed, they seemed to give up.

Bickell tipped a Leddy shot in and the Hawks led 1-0 after 1. Keith shot one from the point that hit Ross in the 2nd and it was 2-0, kind of a fluke, that one.

In the turd, TT got a feed in traffic with very little time to get a shot off and he wired it off the post and in...nicest goal of the night probably. Versteeg finished a pretty play on a pass from Bickell. Rundblad made a pretty slap pass on Shaw's goal.

Darling was solid especially early when Edmonton was buzzing.

None of the Hawks top 6 forwards were dressed.

Mashinter did a nice job in a fight.

Nobody got hurt that I know of.

I'm hoping it picks up, if not we might want to reconsider consolidating with another site.... Seems like those that were most vocal about not doing it disappeared.

John and Troy were saying Versteeg and Bickell have gotten a lot faster during the offseason.

Doesn't look like any of the yewts are going to get a legit shot at this point barring a major trade.

Most are already back in Rockford. Hartman, TVR and TT still on the roster but are likely going to Rockford as well.

Q will stick with his veteran players. Bet Cumiskey makes the roster.

Yeah, Bickell supposedly came in around 10 pounds lighter. Versteeg had the time to finally rest and rehab his knee.

So Bickell is using up all his regular season goals early this year instead of saving them for the playoffs?

Bass and Labrie being waived. Mashinter appears to have made the team. Hartman is injured and will go to Juniors when he is recovered.

JVR has impressed. Cumiskey in the mix. Morin and TT competing for final forward? Cmon Stan make your moves so we can figure out the roster.

Still need to get under the cap. Bass and PL are minor leaguers to start with. Hartman still can work on things in the O plus he's not gonna make the team so I'm cool with that.

Mashinter will be the new whipping boy for the "intellects".

Until he proves he's not just another version of Bollig what do you expect people to think of him? That "role" those players play isn't vital whatsoever.

You are correct already sir, and the season hasn't even started yet. Heck, he hasn't even played an NHL game yet.

Let's think about that when we are fending off Ott, Backass, Lapierre, Jackman, etc in a playoff series. Or Raffi Torres, etc.

Yeah because Bollig and John Scott did such a good job fending guys like them off. As did Burish and Eager years prior. Get real.

Um you can't quantify how many dirty hits they prevented because they never happened.
