2015 cubs in season trades

The Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox as well as the Dodgers will be in on Price. If the top money is in LA he'll sign there. Makes zero sense to extend first. How does he know the market until it sets itself?

Dodgers will have 2 months to talk extension with him if one hasnt already been agreed on before trade..

Most kept saying don't trade for a TOR starter now and wait til FA.. i disagree with that cause if teams trade these FA it gives new teams extra time to talk too and try to extend them..

I understand but it rarely goes down that way. These guys maximize dollars in a bidding war. There will be pitchers available. Cueto will be available, Zimmerman, Samardzija and I'm certain Price as well now without a compensatory pick. Plus I'm hearing the Cubs could still get Tyson Ross tonight or tomorrow.

Alderson just told #Mets’ writers “there is no trade” for Gomez and that a deal “will not transpire.”

Wonder if Wheeler's medicals screwed the deal.

I doubt Cueto extends with Royals without testing FA. If Price goes to LA and does sign, does that make it less lkely that Greinke does?

Zimmerman, Kazmir....still a lot of guys that may not sign.

Sources: Atlanta may not be done after dealing Alex Wood. Braves have listened on Julio Teheran as well. SP market still awfully crowded.

Love me some Teheran but it wont happen.

What the Dodgers do has no affect for Grienke. The Dodgers are a cash cow and are using their money. It's whether or not Zach thinks he's happy.

I have to give credit where credit is due to the Phillies. That's quite the haul. Really shows that they weren't interested in unloading a contract anywhere near as much as they were getting quantity. Alfaro should be a beast.

Rangers mortgaged their whole future

Well I think they actually did OK. This could be a move that benefits both teams. The Phillies have 2 young players that could be on the MLB next year and some other nice prospects. The Rangers got out from under a bad contract and didn't have to give up Joey Gallo or Nomar Mazara. If Jorge Alfaro reaches his potential in Philly that's going to sting but the Rangers rotation next year looks strong. The best trades don't screw anybody over and this one doesn't look like it did.

Just glad Cole is off of the block now. With Lester and Arrieta proving to be a strong 1/2 in the league the focus should be strengthing the back end of the rotation.

It would be nice to get a better #3 than Hammel but not needed.

I guess the question is if Richard can translate his AAA numbers over to the majors. He carves up AAA talent. It is strange that he is not able to repeat that at the next level. I would get it if he was a rookie but not a vet. His stuff is there so not getting it
