Curry lost this game for the Warriors. If he has even a below average game, they win easily. He was brutal. Turnover after turnover and bad shot after bad shot. What was he thinking trying to complete that bounce pass at the end of OT?

Didn't think LeBron could drag a garbage team to even 1 victory but that man did it. Has 1 man single handedly carried a garbage team to even 1 win the NBA finals before? Maybe Iverson in '01..was that team garbage or were the Lakers just that good? I forget

Currys worst game of the entire season and they only lost by 2 in OT and they wouldn't have even lost had fatass speights not blown a dunk.

That team was pretty shitty. Who was their next best player? Mutombo?

Curry was awful, like wow. Got to give some credit to Dellavedova though, he was a menace on defense and that late rebound/attempted putback helped seal the deal.

Cavs won this game on their defense, not something I'd expect to be carrying this team when I saw them come together in the beginning of the season. To be fair, I didn't expect Love and Irving to be out when they made the Finals.

Curry especially.

But yeah they're offensive flow has been off all game

Though I'll argue Cleveland is much better defensively without Irving.

As much as I love Irving, I think there is some truth to this. Shumpert is a stalwart defender, and Dellavedova has proven himself to be very scrappy on that end. Plus, Irving was hardly 100%(8 days rest for a injury that probably needs 3-4 weeks).

Cleveland leagues better defensively without Irving and Love... I'd argue they don't even need Love anymore.

Obviously they're better offensively with both, but you need both ends to win in this league.

Still expect the Warriors to win this series, and they blew a couple of chances to win this past game, so that's how I look at it more than Cleveland win is a Cleveland win. Yes its a win, but I don't think its sustainable. Plus Steph Curry has played two bad games, I think they'll get cleaned up as well, even if he is bothered defensively.

Which surprised me given Scott Foster's track record.
One could make the argument (I'm not) that Lebron was fouled on his drive to the basket at the end of regulation, and then there is the tip-off which at best could have been a foul, but I think a re-tip is the better way to go. You had a couple travels that were missed with Mosgov, and that JR foul on Curry after the free throw could have been a play on.

But there is just no reasonable explanation why that Iggy chop on Lebron's forearm was not called. Tony Brothers is one of the best officials in the NBA, he should not have missed that.

Is that the one where LeBron also traveled though?

Lebron also blatantly traveled twice in the second half (once on an inbound where he literally took 3 steps over halfcourt before dribbling and once on a drive where he took 4 steps...on subsequent replays the first two were conveniently cut out) but players get away with travels all the time so whatever.

That was a horrible no call, but at the same time Lebron drew a foul on Iggy by elbowing him in the stomach when he jumped on a pump fake. JVG was complaining when Steph drew that foul in the late 4th by jumping into his defender, but you're not going to complain when Lebron commits an offensive foul to draw a shooting foul? Riiiiiiiiight.

At the end of the day though, reffing didn't affect the outcome. Steph was historically bad and the Warriors weren't really up to their standard as a whole outside of Klay and they still managed to only lose by 2. Cleveland went out and won the game through sheer force of Lebron's will and the role players stepping up. We kind of figured there'd be a game like this anyway.

And JR Smith did plenty of stupid to allow the Warriors back into this game.

Yeah he did travel before the foul. It happens all the time though so...
Well to me if that was indeed the play, then that wrong cancels out the foul. And a no call there is the correct call.

I think the jump ball was worse than anything though. Should have been a foul, at the least a re-tip.

Missed foul calls happen all the time too.
No doubt. It happened both ways, it's just that the Lebron no call where he got raked by Iggy was extremely obvious and could've been potentially game changing since I think that would've been Iggy's last foul and it was late in the game.

Ok, but if you add up all the missed calls earlier in the game then that call may not have been relevant at all bc the Cavs or Warriors could have been up or down by much more.

Missed foul butterfly effect.
