Laz and Powers say the plan was to buy out smith to pay Crow.

But you can buy out an injured player.

Power Play is a need, so its an easy upgrade. To acquire P.K.

Its probably a dream to play with his brother, and he can do some things we don't have much of.

He has a nine million cap hit. You would need the Devil's to retain 4.5 for two more years to make it work, and that's if they have a retention slot open.

4.5 million is what, two first round picks in value? On top of a couple shit contracts(Smith/Shaw) to even up money? They would probably ask for Dach on top of it and I really wouldn't blame them.

I guess its fair to say CC signing with the Devils was all about $$$. If the Hawks offered 3.5 and he said no don’t tell me the extra 400 thousand made the difference. I get the Hawks are going in a different direction but if the offer was there to start, CC was trying to take advantage of Stan and the Hawks goalie situation, and for once Staniel held his ground. 2 years at close to 8 million is to much for the Hawks in there current situation.

so they lost their goalie to financial mismanagement?

Thats not much to retain a vital cog to your team, foolish to do, we will all see it in a couple months.

There is no vital cog, what don’t you understand, this team is done, finished, has been for a few years now. Stan obviously learned from Seabs, that it’s time to move on, and for the very first time I agree with him. The Hawks do not need CC for 2 more years, he was offered one and said No. CC was spectacular for the Hawks and will be sadly missed, but this is pro sports they come and go, it was the right time. This team needs to be blown up.

...except Stan ditches Maata only to get Zadorov.

That's not a blow-up move.

Hawks sign Janmark.

Like I said, they're loading up two scoring lines, a checking line, and a line that will be tough to play against.

Forwards defensively just got an upgrade along with Zadarov on defense.

Yup, Stan still thinks this team can contend. Janmark replaces Saad at everything except scoring.

Janmark to be the next to learn scrappy play and being tough is a lot more fun and alot easier when surrounded by big tough guys getting after it together in a shark tank mentality.

This replaces Jewels not Saad. (Pious Suter replaced Saad). Poor Janmark. I wonder if Jewels requested a trade up the **** out of here before his body collapsed. Could 2.25 have signed him? He has the better offensive game, so I guess I see the trade out. Gonna lose alot without Saad/Jewel offensively, Suter/Cat/Strome need to make that up.

Maybe Delia or Lahntenon can surprise. Gonna need a miracle at net to even consider competing this year.

Who are we tanking for so I can get through it?

It replaces Saad because Janmark can kill penalties; and he costs only 2.25 instead of 6.

Also, Janmark is an actual 3rd line center.

This signifies nothing, other than Strome is probably gone and they need someone serviceable on the PK. Even on a rebuilding team, you still need guys like Janmark. If he was signed for more than one-year you'd be justified in reading more into it.

Also, on a rebuilding team, you need at least some muscle in the lineup. Janmark and Zadorov aren't coincidences and they will be needed because there's no doubt opposing teams will try to thump a young team every single night.
