Jerami Grant just got traded to Portland for a 2025 top 4 protected 1st. Wowza
Yep, all detroit got was a protected 1st and 3 second round picks.

I’d say that’s a pretty decent haul for detroit, but many were expecting more it seems

Shoot man, I guess it's a buy low market this year. Why not, Rudy Gobert for Coby White and Vucevic it is!

Detroit was allegedly shopping him at the trade deadline, but got nothing but low ball offers. This may have been the best offer they've seen thus far and thus took it. They seemed to have no real desire to keep Grant, though I don't really know why.

Probably because they want to get something for him instead of being forced to overpay for his services in FA. He’s a pretty solid role player, but in today’s climate, he’ll be pushing for a max deal or close to it. Detroit was wise to trade him now, IMO

Underrated factor as well is that Portland could just eat the salary without sending anything back. If Pistons were just doing it as a cap move to make a play in FA right now, that's something Bulls definitely couldn't offer.

Ehh I’m no nets fan, but if I was I’d be fine with S&T him elsewhere. Nets would get a really nice return, I’d imagine. And, they would rid themselves of a massive contract for a guy that hasn’t shown up to play for the franchise

The only thing to sweat is how will KD react to Kyrie getting moved? Obviously, depends on the return but I can’t imagine any trade puts the Nets “closer” to a ring in the near term…which is the timeframe KD cares about

Starting off with a curveball. Big odds everywhere it was going to be Smith
Houston having Smith fall right in their lap now

The top 3 are so interchangeable with ceilings. Its probably a draft you will see down the line like that team should have picked him.

The league is just getting more talented.

100%

I favored Smith coming out. Like you said, we will have to look back in a couple years or so

What would it take to get Poetl? Coby, Greene, Portland pick, 2nd rounder get things rolling?

Thinking over the C options, I think Poetl would be my preferred option via trade. If nothing can be done there, I probably lean Montrezl Harrell….then Drummond.

I think Robinson may price himself out of the Bulls market, but you never know. Poetl and PJ Tucker would go a long ways this year and also keep some flexibility in the coming years.

Lonzo/LaVine/DeRozan/Williams/Vuc
Caruso/Ayo/Dalen/Tucker/Poetl

Should have enough left over from the MLE to pick up another shooter as well.

A nice idea, though idk if SA would want to trade Poetl in the first place.
