Make me a list of

A top 6 draft picks
.and

A top 50 prospect at the time of promotion.

That ended up in the pen. Not out of baseball because that was a fail. But was drafted as a pen arm and the people who create prospect rankings also viewed him as a pen arm and that is his ending point

Not a soft landing then eased into the role.

So you can look at it as 1st 5 years. Was he a pen arm or was he a starter that management decided to ease into it

From what you are saying is he is a 2 pitch pitcher. Which he is not as he has a change up. And the Cubs drafted him regardless to be a closer. Which would be a waste of a top 6 pick. Which would be incompetent. And the prospect evaluation process felt that a 'closer' deserved a top 50 ranking?

Sounds pretty ludicrous. Because it is.
You’re creating false things here, bud

I never said anything about being drafted as a reliever. I said the opposite…drafted as a starter and was a top prospect but ended up a reliever

Of which, there are numerous cases

And I called him a 2 pitch pitcher because 90+% of the time he throws the fastball or slider. Sure, he has a change up but it sucks and he rarely uses it.

He is 7/13 with 6 walks and 1 K with RISP. He is litterally doing what he was brought in to do.
He is at the end of his career. The bar should be low. Getting late game clutch hits should be his role.

With Jed should be doing is looking to trade for Devers. That fixes a lot of problems on this team

Let's see a Ballestroes can get a hit out of the infield today. At least he makes contact, well Hayward made contact also.

The new kid isn't just fat, he's sloppy fat. Somebody should give him Schwarber's phone number to get a few hints on how a DH gets in shape.

He has has four pitches technically. The changeup is his worst offering. So you are correct with this.

But yet again just because you say there's numerous cases and don't cite actual pitchers in this umbrella statement it holds less value.

2022 he was the 2nd pitcher after Rocker. Both have made it

2021 Jack Lieter and Jobe. Both are starters. 3rd is still in A ball as a HS pick

And go on record if you are talking about a high school pitcher and he ends up a reliever well yes because there is far more unknown going into the thought process and you're just looking at potential so you have a larger room for error. But when you're dealing with a college pitcher and you're viewing them as a starter more likely than not easy to become a starter or he just never gets past the point that he was in college which means he peaked and they thought he had more in the tank.

Horton hit check marks. Number one he was a college pitcher and positional player. He was drafted as a starting pitcher and he is a starting pitcher to date

The second check mark is he is a top 50 prospect. Evaluators normally do not put bench players or pen arms in as top 50 prospects. So if you view him as a pen arm then that means they should to; logically speaking. Well that does not appear to be a fact because he is still in the top 50.

Like I said earlier everybody's entitled to an opinion that doesn't mean it's right it just is your opinion

Does he fix the starting pitching or bullpen with his atrocious defense at 3b?

Lol at questioning him after 1 game. What a ret@rd

Was he signed to do this? No. So now he is your martyr. Make sure to jab him with your spear when you think he is properly dead.

That was a joke. I am glad that it pulled you in.

Like I said. What fixes this team is on the level of trading for Devers.

Another DH or a 40 yo limited duty player. Or a 3B convert that is struggling is not the solution.

In a must win year you have to avoid limited answers and cross your fingers.

I believe most here agree on this. At least I hope we do because if not you are hoping for a Hail Mary play daily

And don't say that Tom can not afford it. He was going to sign off on Bregman. Bregman adds 5 wins to this team. At least

Players slump. When you have more players that are talented then the over all slump lessens. Right now they lost 1 and 3+ players are in a slump. That is too much.

Hope it is not true.

Heard on another board. Busch taking grounders at 3B, Ballestroes getting work at 1B.

S/T is when you do this. Jed being Jed here if this is true.
