Just would like to remind everyone that even though Parise is a very good hockey player he isn't even a point per game average player. The way he has been getting treated by the press and this FA market is that of a player who averages 1.5 points per game or higher. This is one of the dumbest freak shows I have seen in the FA market in a long time.



Would love to see Zach as a part of the Hawks. It just has to be reasonable and realistic terms for what type of player Zach really is. As many have said..this team already has the star players it needs depth. There is no doubt Parise adds depth esp to a position where the Hawks are desperate. But does Parise really equate to the rumoured contract values we are all hearing? I don't know. To think that this team could have a future on ice issue due to one long expensive contract **** blocking future needs just worries me to death.



At the business end..I have no choice but to leave it up to the Hawks owners and accountants etc. If they think they can make the money back that they will throw at Parise then more power to them and I hope they could. Hawks are an easy team to market when you put money towards it. Parise can make this club money in branding and merchandise etc...but for how long and how much? That's the question left for the power teams in the head office. I can't answer them just ask them.



Hawks...go get Parise...just be smart about it.

Realistically he isn't worth Toews type money. Maybe Kane and that's not to take anything away from Kane. Toews should be one of the top 10 paid players in the league based on his package (and by package I mean his overall game and attitude towards it not his penis and balls).

Yah it's called winning and having the history of success to back up what one thinks they deserve...look it up. It's also called producing when it matters most. Despite the fantasy around Suter he hasn't won jack shit..nothing..NOTHING. He has had horrible playoffs EVERY time the Preds have been in them including these last ones.



For someone who is looking for a Lidstrom deserving contract I don't know if 13 points and a - 4 in 39 playoff games is fair to the other players in the game and in the league. We are talking about a guy here who some think is one of the best 2 way blueliners in the game. Let me know when he cracks the 10 goal mark and doesn't pad his assist totals with secondary assists. Let me know when he cracks the top ten in hits or blocked shots or take aways.



Everyone rips on Keith around here but on average Keith has better stats than Suter does year after year in almost all areas where it matters most for a blueliner. Seabrook nearly beats him in all categories also. What Suter is going to get is going to be a travesty for this league and for those who are actually deserving. Suter has done nothing but structure his last contract in a way where being a FA today will pay off in large ways. And luck...pure fucking luck. He also has a good agent..no doubt about it. This is an agents/lawyers game now...good old cap system breeds non hockey and non performance related contracts. This was all warned of when the system was put in place.



It's disrespectful to the league and other players when guys like Suter and his agent are asking for things they don't deserve based on performance...at the end of the day that's what it is and should be about...previous performance. That's what I mean by paying your dues to the league.
