You trade the much salary with nothing coming back but draft picks and prospects? Stan would have to be a real GM for that!

I hear ya...just saying.

There are quite a few teams that need to get to a cap floor.

The "good" thing about some of the contracts, is even though Monty's hit it 2.75...he's only going to make 2.1mil each of the next few years. Frolik's hit it 2.33 but only will make 2mil per. So some of the "strapped" teams may take on the hit to get to the floor...but will be paying less money out

Jaeckel is still a moron.

If they managed somehow to land both....

Hjarll, Montador, Frolik leaving would make them fit - even if they signed for 8mil per -

FORWARDS

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Bryan Bickell ($0.542m) / Dave Bolland ($3.375m) / Andrew Shaw ($0.565m) [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Daniel Carcillo ($0.825m) / Marcus Kruger ($0.900m) / Jamal Mayers ($0.650m) [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Brandon Bollig ($0.575m) / [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Brent Seabrook ($5.800m) / Duncan Keith ($5.538m) [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Nick Leddy ($1.117m) / Johnny Oduya ($3.383m) [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Ryan Suter ($8.000m) / Sheldon Brookbank ($1.250m) [/background]

GOALTENDERS

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Corey Crawford ($2.667m) [/background]

[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)]Ray Emery ($1.150m) [/background]

------

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)

(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)

SALARY CAP:[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)] $70,200,000; [/background]CAP PAYROLL:[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)] $69,856,794; [/background]BONUSES:[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)] $485,000[/background]

CAP SPACE (22-man roster):[background=rgb(243, 248, 252)] $343,206[/background]

But if you were to land *THE TWO 2012 FAs* do you then risk getting some more cap space for emergencies by shucking off Bolland and picking up a scrub 3C? Bolland wouldn't be more valuable in their heads than picking up Parise-Suter I'd think.

No, I don't believe they made an offer to Suter. Kicked tires, sure, but there is no "offer" out there like Jaeckel says.

Why do you think they wouldn't they make an offer to the player who they could actually sell some ties or benefits of coming to CHI to?

capgeek is only assuming a team will spend to the cap. I think the Hawks have an internal cap that people outside the organization don't know about

Nobody reputable has stated that Suter was made an offer. Only that the Blackhawks have contacted him. As far as I know, there is no offer on the table.

Well...if they have any idea of signing both, I don't think they plan on skimming/worrying about the cap.

And I agree book....Bolland would than be more 'odd man" out soon. His contract up in 2yrs, Kruger seems to be a 3rd line center/replacement

I think they proved that at the TDL last year. Without doubt.

You also have several players on two way contracts. Bollig, Olsen, Smith, Shaw.... All can go to the AHL without waivers.

Either way I don't believe EITHER Suter or Parise are coming here.

Bolland was going to be the odd man out at the very latest at TDL of that contract's last year. If his development keeps panning out I think the Hawks only have eyes for Danault to be the annoyingly pesky, hard-working, 3C of the future.

Is being pesky part of Danaults game? I thought it was just the hard-working, do everything for the team type of player.

I could swear pesky was used in multiple scouting reports on him back in 2011. In any event I consider him dogged which is why I nicknamed him "Tenacious D" last year based on his camp and tournament play. Then he had a great season in Victoriaville to top it off. Tenacious is being dogged so I think that qualifies as pesky to the opposition. I still think he's who they see as the eventual 3C post-Bolland maybe after a little Kruger stint. They'll tell him he has to play it like Bolland which is pesky and he's a quick learner, eager to please type so he'll do it IMO, lol.

Signing in Pitt is Parise's best option... will be surprised (yet elated) if he chooses Chicago. "Zoom out" and take a look at his situation.... the ONLY choice to be made looks like Pitt and headache boy.

Or go back to his home state and play for a team that in about 2-3 years will be on one of the best in the league based on all the prospects coming up.

Why? With Crosby and his situation unknown, would he better served with a forward core consisting of Toews, Kane, Sharp and Hossa or Malkin, Neal, Kunitz and *maybe* Crosby?

I think it's PIT too. Yesterday though I thought there was literally NOTHING the Wild wouldn't give him to come and be the hometown hero face of the franchise. I thought MIN's only competition was PHI. WTF happened with PHI today? How'd they just disappear from the frenzy?

I think the only way he goes to Minny...is if it's him and Suter both going there.

I think it's CHI or NJ actually for Parise

And Suter is CHI or DET....
