He wasn't that bad with the Thrashers/Jets for the couple of years he played. Probably didn't notice him because there was no players to notice while he played there. Those teams were some of the worst iced defensive teams in NHL modern history. Close to some of the worst offensive ones also.

He fit's the system like a glove...not too shabby of a trade/re-signing

Think DET would like him?

How can anyone not like this guy?

Came via trade...could have tested the waters as a UFA

Re-signs - for less than he was making to fill a top 4 role

Finishes the Cup run with a +12 and 49 blocked shots - both leading the team

Played against other teams top players all playoffs as well.

Hooked his buddies up from Sweden with gm 5 Cup final tickets, went to Thailand and helped them win their first Championship, went through the loss of his brother in the summer of 2011....

All around great guy. Happy he was able to be a big part in winning the Cup with his fellow Swede Hjarllmarsson

Thats the Oduya I wanted when we got him in that trade years ago. I'm just glad he's finally paid a visit this entire season and playoffs.

In my opinion Oduya was Stans best move so far as GM. Hes still a top 4 blueliner on all NHL teams and Stan nabbed him for next to nothing. Don't think any other blueliner would have shored up the blueline depth like Oduya did. Can't say enough about Oduya.

Roszival also was an amazing move.

Leddy still has development time but Stan sure had the eye for him and how he got him.

Stuck with Hammer after a lot of desires out there to move him and interests.

Appears Stan knows his blueliners. I think that might become his legacy..his eye for blueline talent. Nothing wrong with that at all esp under the system the Hawks play and with a coach who also knows how to coach and match up defensive pairings.

Oduya, even though I STILL get nervous every time he touches the puck, was extremely good this season. Couldn't be happier.
