So Scooter thinks that the lack of #2 center is overblown and thinks Kane is better option than anything that's out there? Not sure I agree. Also called out the coaching for the PP woes.

He only scored a point in 12 of the 21 games. Grant it he had 17 points, but in general offensively it was a down season for Kane.

I agree the constant shuffling of lines and positions does hurt players and Kane is not a center. But there was some inconsistency in his play at times, but so was there for Sharp and Hossa.

I'm not using him as a scape goat or even close, but I'd like to see him dominate the play.

He most definitely stepped up when JT went down. He stepped up and the team followed. If you were to pose that question to the actual players on the team, they'd say the same thing. Again the double standard placed on him is dumb.

Without him on this team when JT went down, they were golfing 3 weeks ago. No question.

Double standard?

He's supposed to be a high skilled offensive player. He's not Toews who plays a two-way game. So when you don't put up the numbers, people will complain because nobody is looking for him to play a stellar defensive game. Same with Stamkos. He isn't expected to be great in his own zone, that's why he gets paid big bucks to put the puck in the net (which he does well). If he were to have a 25 goal season, people would be complaining as well (insert any offensively gifted star, Ovechkin works well here).

Off year for him for sure, hopefully he comes back next year with someone else as the 2nd line center and he can do his thing.

Again you said it best. He played RW, C and LW. No way does a player keep ANY numbers up during that. Not to mention wrist surgery BEFORE the season started, giving him no Pre Season.

You are far to knowledgeable to go down that path Trev. And my comment was directly towards your's that when JT went down Kane didn't step up, because 100%, without fucking fact he DID. And if you were to ASK any other actually wearing the Indian Head, they'd agree with me.

There is most certainly a double standard when it comes to Kane. Just look at Rosenbloom morons recent article suggesting they trade him.

Anyone get the vibe from the end of season presser that Q and Scooter are not on the same page when it comes on how the team should be built and how it should play?

If Kitchen isn't sacked before next season, I don't know what to think.

When the captain went down I had little hope for this team because in the past they have had very little success with JT out of the lineup. But the team did step up and learn how to play without JT, and Kane was very instrumental in that . Hawks were one of the hottest teams in the league to end the season and they could'nt have done it without PK.

But i thought Kane at center was all Q's doing?

Of course he's calling out Q as the reason for the failing PP. That's a sure sign Q's on his way out and not Stan. Next season someone tell Stan to get some proper right handed shots on the team and a left winger "powerplay specialist"who can skate faster than a mile per hour.

Stan has no idea how hockey is played or coached..hes never played it. My father knows how to smelt different metals. Doesn't mean I wouldn't burn myself with acids if I tried it. GET THE DRIFT????

Teams about to lose a guy who knows hockey and who has played it for an accountant.

I know, I was just stating the other opinion that we were referring too. There were games where it looked like he was off IMO. He did start ramping it up towards the end of the season, but at first it seemed inconsistent.

You give Stan too much credit. He's got the grinch and daddy pulling his strings. Based on the tone of that presser there are coaching changes coming, just not sure how extensive it will be. Also wouldn't surprise me if they make a splash regarding the roster via trade or free agent move. They've got some cap space to play with. Grinch likes big signings of marquee players, team chemistry be damned.

I read the Yahoo article about the blackhawks having questions going into the offseason. Anyone else get the vibe that Stan hasn't got a fucking clue when it comes to on-ice talent? Crawford is horrible, but the worse Team D gets a pass?

yeah. the interview pissed me off "Our trouble in the playoffs was goaltending, I'm going to resign Oduya and have the exact same shitty defensemen as this season)

I don't believe they will even make an offer to Oduya. Least that's the impression I got the other night.

I am hoping that Scooter is playing his cards close to the chest. I don't know if it's too savvy to go out and announce that they will be targeting this and that player. But if he spends another off-season picking up bargain bin bottom 6 players who had their best years already and not really addressing any needs, then **** Scooter. I don't feel like watching a third season in a row of struggles. Despite collecting 101 pts, they never really convinced once that they were a team that could make some noise.

That would be tampering.

As for the rest, I wouldn't trust him to run a Jack in the Box.

Well if you watch Stans exit interview on what transpired after JT went down I couldn't agree more. He said almost word for word what I've been saying for quite awhile. Kaner stepped in, became the teams #1 Center and carried them down the stretch. Whether scoring or not his play, all over the ice, was unreal in many more games than you say "off".

Now can this team win with him at 2nd line Center, probably. Is that the best solution, I don't think so. It doesn't mean that at 23 his two way game will still only improve. Especially if 27-28 years of age is nearing "peak" development.

I would prefer they get a big, physical type 2nd line Center though. And allow Patrick to play RW, where he is his best and will no doubt produce the most points.

Trev his play during that time was not in his offensive production alone. It was his LEADERSHIP on and OFF the ice.
