Well if you watch Stans exit interview on what transpired after JT went down I couldn't agree more. He said almost word for word what I've been saying for quite awhile. Kaner stepped in, became the teams #1 Center and carried them down the stretch. Whether scoring or not his play, all over the ice, was unreal in many more games than you say "off".

Now can this team win with him at 2nd line Center, probably. Is that the best solution, I don't think so. It doesn't mean that at 23 his two way game will still only improve. Especially if 27-28 years of age is nearing "peak" development.

I would prefer they get a big, physical type 2nd line Center though. And allow Patrick to play RW, where he is his best and will no doubt produce the most points.

Trev his play during that time was not in his offensive production alone. It was his LEADERSHIP on and OFF the ice.

Couldn't agree more, but the whole notion that were just gonna sit tight with him at center is complete and utter bullshit. Its bullshit to the team and to our fans, Kane is best at RW, at "center" as we all know and he played lights out for the past 5 weeks of the season, and in the series IMO. His leadership was really eye opening to end the year, I also heard that he was pretty vocal at the end of the year without Toews. My point is, to use the fact that Kane stepped up and lead the team playing center in an odd situation with JT out is just ridiculous.

To me, or any logical person I would think, you take that great play and leadership from the end of this year, carry it into this year and put it where he's is most effective, with JT at center. Pick up a 2nd line center, one who is very solid in both ends, tough, kills penalties, wins faceoffs and can feed the puck to Hossa or Sharp. I really just don't understand whats so hard to see there. Is Stan working his own Moneyball horseshit or does he just aim to look like a moron.

Don't worry, as long as Stan is the GM you will never see a goalie here with 10 yrs left on their contract; just that alone is why Luongo will not be here and pretty much nowhere else but Vancouver.
