I'm not... he's a good addition to this team.

I bet his moment of retardation and injury will really make him think harder about decisions he makes on the ice.

Glad to see it.

Carcillo is supposed to play the role of agitator but he just gets agitated all the time and ends up taking incredibly stupid penalties at the most costly times and plays the game with zero respect. I find this signing truly disturbing.

Surprised at this news...

Now that's an over use of tilts in a short article.

Carcillo, 26, recorded 11 points (2G, 9A), 82 penalty minutes and a +10 plus/minus rating in 28 regular-season tilts this year

1,068 penalty minutes in 310 regular-season tilts

33 career Stanley Cup Playoffs tilts

I remember him drawing quite a few penalties as well though.

Yeah but he doesnt help much when he's suspended. Not happy. Keep it up Scooter, you are proving that you are clueless. Go ask Dad next time you have a thought.

I like it. Can't be expensive. I am sure he could have gotten career high in points this season if he had been healthy.

If he signed at a similar amount or slight increase I'm okay with it.

Energy player with some skill, not sure I get why people hate Carcillo, yet everyone loved Burish and Eager... what's the difference? Depending on the $$ then I'm fine with this signing.

I would like a combination of Shaw/Carcillo on the 4th line more than Burish/Eager. In a heartbeat.

Not keen on Carbomb, as that was a boneheaded play. He was even with the guy, backed off the ran in a shoved him. It was a selfish play. I feel his injury was instant karma. He didn't help his team at that point, and him sitting out, whether it was because of injury or because he was suspended, doesn't help them either. He can't be that agitator or grit from the press box.

If this experience opened his eyes, and he starts to play smarter, I will become a fan. But not until I can see him be a team player.

I guess every team needs a halfwit and he gets to be ours.

Bollig as well.

I'm not really sold on Bollig as a full-time roster player. I'd like to see a line of Carcillo/Mayers/Shaw as the 4th, maybe rotating Bollig in there from time to time depending on how they are playing. Knowing the way the Hawks have been working things, that will never happen.

Mayers and Oduya should be extended as well.

The love for Burish and Eager and the hate for Carbomb is indeed odd. They are essentially the same and I feel that Carcillo is the most skilled of them. He is a sparkplug that this team sorely needs and I am glad that he'll hang around for another 2 years

Does Carcillo have a chance of playing again this year or is he done for sure until next year?

His recovery window is 6 months, even if the Hawks made it to the Finals he probably wouldn't recover in time unless he was ahead by a month or so.

...or when carbomb is suspended, Bollig can suit up.

Actually, a good move IMO. You know he'll be chomping at the bit after sitting so long. He's the kind of player, like Burish, that pumps other players up when the chips are down and gets opposing players off their game. We could've used him on THEE losing streak.

Emery should be extended, too.
